I am SUPER excited to share my next product in my Holiday Gift Guide. The MamaRoo Plush by the geniuses over at 4moms is a must-have product not only for the gift-giving season, it is also a must for any new or expectant parents out there! I have actually had a MamaRoo since Xander, my 10 month old, was a newborn. I have to say, this product saved my sanity on about a million different occasions. You see, Xander had awful acid reflux when he was smaller, and he would not sleep laying flat. At all. I had no choice but to let him sleep in either a traditional swing or the MamaRoo. When he was tiny, the overly mechanical motion of a regular swing didn't help lull him to sleep at all. In fact, it seemed to be a bit too much for the little guy! The MamaRoo is different, since it features 5 great motions that are specifically designed to accurately mimic parental movements. So rather than feeling unnatural motions, baby is soothed by the comforting motions that are already familiar to them by being held, rocked, and swayed by Mom and Dad! I cannot tell you how many times the MamaRoo was a veritable life-saver in my home. I had a painful c-section, and it was often very difficult to perform everyday functions in the first weeks after Xander's birth. Add to that the fact that I had Sophie who had just started walking to chase after, and you can see why the MamaRoo quickly became this Mama's helper! When I had to prepare food for Sophie, I could simply put Xander into the MamaRoo and it would buy me the time to take care of my toddler. The MamaRoo also helped Xander fall asleep quicker and stay asleep longer. The seat is designed to perfectly cradle baby, making for a comfortable, cozy little nest. Add to that the fact that there are several nature sounds to help calm baby and you've got a very soothing place for baby to rest. If you're not into nature sounds, you can even plug an mp3 player into the MamaRoo so baby can listen to anything you'd like! We really like The Beatles here, and I often play "Real Love" to Xander as he's falling asleep. My husband likes awful, growling, scary Death Metal. I would not recommend this type of music for small babies, since all it seems to do is scare them. (And give ME a headache!) The MamaRoo is wonderful for sleep or play, and can be set to various different speeds, from a slow, soothing speed to a faster, more fun speed. With 5 different motions and various speeds, there are tons of different ways to customize your baby's MamaRoo experience. The seat even reclines in several different positions along its axis, which also comes in very handy. A lot of swings and bouncer seats only have a couple of different positions to choose from. Well, as you can see, the MamaRoo by 4moms is no ordinary baby seat! I like to call it the Rolls Royce of baby seats! Another very cool thing about the MamaRoo is the seat cover. This cover is easy to zip onto the frame and can be removed in a snap to clean. Oh, did I mention it's machine washable? Where babies are concerned, messes are inevitable. Xander has gotten spit-up, formula, and worse on his MamaRoo, and I have always been able to get it washed in a snap. It is also very fast drying! The MamaRoo Plush, their newest model, offers a very soft, cozy seat cover that is super comfortable for baby. The traditional MamaRoo has a cover that's just as nice, although it lacks the plush feel. I personally like both options, and often switch them out when I wash my covers. Xander doesn't seem to mind at all! But if all of these awesome features weren't enough to make you run out and buy one, the MamaRoo also comes equipped with a fun mobile to provide entertainment for baby. This mobile simply snaps into the frame of the MamaRoo, and can be easily removed, if desired. Housed inside the mobile are 3 plush balls. There are 2 different designs, an artist print series featuring the work of the greats, as well as an adorable monster line. Each ball is double-sided. One side has vibrant, colorful designs while the other has black and white designs. Research has proven that the high contrast of black and white is very beneficial to the sensory development of newborns and younger babies. These cute little balls can be popped out so that baby can play with them, squeeze them, study them, and yes...even chew on them. Hey, babies will be babies! Take a look at the MamaRoo Plush! Here is a video showing some of the cool features of the MamaRoo Plush. PLEASE NOTE: Baby SHOULD NOT be sitting up in the MamaRoo. Xander was not cooperating since I had the camera out and he likes to try and grab it. My baby has almost outgrown the MamaRoo, and while he still loves it, it really is meant for younger babies! I had a younger "test baby" over, but that mama didn't want her child's image on the internet. I found it important to include a video, though, since the features of this product are too darn cool for photos alone. Out of respect for her privacy, I had no choice but to use Xander as the baby model here. Overall, I truly think that the MamaRoo and the MamaRoo Plush from 4moms are a must have for any baby. Babies love the natural, comforting motions, and parents love the peace of mind they get from having a happy baby! It's a win-win situation! I adore the MamaRoo, and as a mom, it has made my life exponentially easier, especially when I was recovering from a c-section and chasing an active toddler around at the same time. The MamaRoo has also allowed me to get a quick shower in from time to time. And let's face it: With a new baby in the house, this isn't always the easiest thing to accomplish. The MamaRoo is also very durable, ingeniously designed, and it's definitely built to last. So why settle for an ordinary, boring swing or bouncer? As parents, we want our babies to have the absolute BEST. Well, the MamaRoo IS the best, in this mama's humble opinion. And with several modern prints and colors, you're sure to find the perfect design to fit into any decor! BUY IT: You can check out the MamaRoo Plush on the 4moms website.
