Hidden Garden Foods Cookies Offer A Delicious Way to Get Kids to Eat Their Veggies #Partner4/17/2016 ***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Do your kids get enough veggies in their diet? For some families, this is a never-ending battle. My 6 year old, Sophie, LOVES veggies, so getting her to eat a nice serving is no problem at all. My 5 year old, Xander, though? Well, that's a different story entirely. He often refuses vegetables, and will put up quite the stink when they're served to him. Thankfully, I have some sneaky ways to help incorporate veggies into our daily meals. For one, I often slip some pureed veggies into our meals. For example, I add butternut squash to our Mac and Cheese, and the kids are none the wiser. I also add loads of veggies to smoothies. Xander never even realizes they're there! Another way I ensure my kiddos are getting the right amount of veggies in their daily diets is by giving them cookies! Yes. I just said I give my children cookies to ensure they are getting their veggies. I know, I know...Cookies and veggies don't typically belong in the same sentence. Until now, that is! Thanks to Hidden Garden Foods, cookies and veggies are the perfect combination! ![]() The owner of Hidden Garden Foods, Catherine, was having difficulty getting her two young daughters to eat vegetables. All they wanted was to eat cookies, so naturally, Catherine decided the best plan of action was to combine the two and Hidden Garden Foods was born! That was back in 2012. Now they have four different flavors of cookies selling in grocery stores all across North America. They offer Chocolate Chip made with Pumpkin, Ginger Snap made with Butternut Squash, Red Velvet made with beets, and Cocoa Cherry made with Spinach. All of Hidden Garden's product is certified Gluten Free, and made in a completely nut-free, peanut-free facility. Their products are also all natural, made with ingredients that most people could find in their local grocery store or pantry at home. We received a nice assortment of cookies from Hidden Garden to check out for ourselves. Sophie was delighted when she read the bag and saw that these cookies are all natural and gluten-free. (No, we are not a gluten-free family, although we do buy some GF products simply because they taste good.) Sophie loves eating foods that are good for her, so she was super-excited about these cookies! She called it the best of both worlds! Xander also really liked these cookies. Thankfully, he can't read as well as his slightly older sister, so he had absolutely no idea that these cookies contain ingredients like spinach, butternut squash, and pumpkin. All he knows is that they taste good and satisfy his sweet tooth. Score for Hidden Garden Foods! I tried the cookies as well, and I have to say, they're pretty darn tasty! I especially love the Ginger Snaps. They have a nice, spicy flavor to them, and they're absolutely wonderful paired with a nice cup of coffee. The Chocolate Chip and Cocoa Cherry cookies are equally awesome. Overall, I am definitely very impressed with Hidden Garden Foods cookies. They are absolutely delicious, and offer a painless way to add vegetables to the diet of even the pickiest of eaters. My kids didn't know the difference, and yours won't, either!
