Head Hurt? Find Relief And Relaxation With Excedrin Migraine! #GIVEAWAY ARV:$140 3 WINNERS! 12/1312/1/2011 ![]() If you've ever experienced a migraine headache, you know it's no walk in the park. Your head throbs, you're sensitive to light and sound, and the pain is so intense that someone hitting you and knocking you out sounds more like relief than assault. When I experience a migraine, I turn into the "Evil Mommy Monster." I am snappish, grouchy, and not very pleasant to be around. But I don't think anyone is all rainbows and butterflies when it feels like their head is literally about to explode! You may recall that the East Coast had a rare, significant earthquake a couple of months ago. This quake originated less than an hour away from me, and it shook my house quite violently. For some odd reason, I started experiencing severe migraines later that day and was plagued by them for over a week. Coincidence? I don't know. What I do know is that I was in severe pain and discomfort and couldn't even sleep. The headaches I was experiencing were horrid, lasting for several hours at a time. Just when I thought they had ceased, they'd come back with a vengeance. Before this odd occurrence, I suffered from migraine headaches only occasionally. Thankfully, the constant headaches have stopped. But I still do get migraines once in awhile, especially when it's close to that time of the month or if I haven't gotten enough sleep. Even spending too many hours working online can trigger a doozy of a migraine for me. When this happens, I always grab some Excedrin Migraine for fast relief of my migraine symptoms. Excedrin is the first non-prescription medication that is FDA approved to treat all of those nasty migraine symptoms. It's even the most recommended over the counter remedy by neurologists. Excedrin comes in capsule or tablet form and contains acetaminophen (paracetamol), caffeine, and aspirin. This combination of active ingredients is very effective for treating even the worst headaches. (I know this from personal experience.)I generally don't like taking pills of any kind, but I am always willing to reach for my bottle of Excedrin when migraines attack. It usually provides significant relief within 20-30 minutes. This is so important, because life doesn't stop for a migraine. I still have diapers to change, babies to feed and snuggle, and homework to help with. Not to mention housework and blogging. Excedrin helps me stay on top of my responsibilities even when my headache is holding me back. Do you suffer from migraines? You're not alone! It might surprise you to know that nearly 30 MILLION American adults suffer from migraines on a regular basis. And most sufferers are women. It's bad enough we have to deal with periods, cramps, and childbirth...We also have to deal with migraines far more regularly than men. (Lucky guys!) Recently, the folks at Excedrin teamed up with the National Headache Foundation to conduct a survey looking at just how much people with migraines suffer. It's quite interesting to see some of the trade-offs people would gladly make in exchange for a migraine free life. Here are some eye-opening examples of the lengths people would go to:

As a migraine sufferer of 23 years and counting. I have learned at the onset of a migraine to take an Excedrin migraine. Then a hot shower or a hot bath, I try to rest as much as I can. As a single mother of two their is very little quiet time I get. I turn the lights down or completely off and try to get as much rest as I can while still taking care of my children.

I know it sounds weird, but I saw this on TV and it does help, open your thumb and pointer finger apart, then pinch the middle of the webbing between those fingers really hard for 8 seconds then let go, it's not 100 percent against all migraines, but I've had that work on severe headaches. Meditation daily helps PREVENT them! :-)

I tend to take hot showers when I have a migraine ... it's like a warm, soothing head massage and just feels really relaxing in general. Keeping the lights out in the bathroom and bedroom helps, too. I find that spicy foods, like ginger and pepper, also help for some reason? The ginger's nice if it hurts bad enough to give me an upset tummy on top of the headache.

I get auras before a migraine so if I take medicine as soon as I get these my head doesn't hurt as bad.

When I get a migraine (not too often anymore, thank goodness), I want bed in a dark room with some pleasant music playing low to block outside noise. And everyone should leave me alone. If I can sleep and then wake naturally, I usually feel much better.

I have had migraines since I can remember. It is such a terrible pain and ruins my day. I get them usually four or five times a week. Because I get them so often, I just go about my daily routines and try to put a smile on my face. I know it affects people around me and I hate that it does.

I cope with migraines by staying in a dark room, doing some muscle relaxation techniques . . .and trying to get some sleep. Having a pain killer helps!

I have only had a handful of real migraines (there are too many people out there who claim a bad headache is a migraine - IT'S NOT!) I need a dark, quiet room and a hot washcloth over my forehead and eyes. They don't make it go away, but they help me get through it.

I don't get them often, but when I do I'm down for the count. I save OTC meds for those time to combat it as soon as I feel one coming on; and I also use essential oils to ease it away as well.

migraine has ruined so so many good times. Worst I had was going thru immigration into another country. My friend had to lead me thru because I couldnt even keep my eyes open with the bright lights. Not even strong meds helped that one. Thankfully I dont get them that horrible any more but when I do I always head to my bathtub, lights off and take an Excedrin Migraine. YES those work better than anything!

I've had migraines in high school and then they disappeared for much of my adult life. After our fourth and final child, who is now four, I started to get them again (I'm thinking it is linked to a procedure I had done in the hospital). I get them every month like clockwork. Excederin Migraine is the only thing that helps. My mother-in-law told me aobut it.
