It seems I am always in the kitchen making appetizers, desserts, and of course delicious casseroles and main dishes. I love to cook, so any excuse to feed people I can find makes me giddy with excitement. This year, we plan on making a lot of fruit dishes. My kids are more than a little obsessed with fresh fruits, and I prefer healthier options than cakes, pies, and pastries. (Of course we will be making some of those as well.) The folks at Driscoll's Berries are excited about the Holidays, too. They have tons of fantastic Holiday berry recipes that are perfect for entertaining. I found so many mouth-watering appetizers, desserts, and main dish recipes on their website, and I will definitely be trying several of them. Perhaps I will even make this adorable and very festive Very Berry Holiday Tree! So far, we have made a few yummy berry creations using Driscoll's Berries. My husband made this amazing Triple Berry Pie using strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. It came out absolutely perfect, and was great paired with some vanilla ice cream! I am a huge fan of parfaits and smoothies. I often enjoy them for breakfast or as an afternoon pick-me-up. I made this parfait using raspberries, Honey-Vanilla flavored Greek Yogurt, a brown sugar granola crunch, and some homemade whipped cream. This is so simple, since you just layer the ingredients, and it is definitely satisfying. Here is one of my all-time favorite smoothies. I added Greek Yogurt, raspberries and strawberries, a little ice and milk, and Amazing Grass Green Superfood powder. Top it with homemade whipped cream, and you're getting tons of nutrients and antioxidants in one delicious serving. This recipe is especially good with picky kids who don't like eating their veggies. By adding the Superfood powder, they get all of the vitamins and don't even know it! Over the next few weeks we will be experimenting with even more berry recipes. I think I may make some berry tarts and a berry crumble. These would be wonderful with our Honeybaked Ham dinner we'll be enjoying on Christmas Eve! Do you love Driscoll's Berries as much as I do?
