We're definitely animal lovers in my home. We have both dogs and cats, and the kids enjoy having fluffy friends to snuggle and love. Of course Sophie and Xander simply have to have animal toys to go along with their real life fur-babies. (The pets don't mind, since it gives them a much needed break from being chased around all day!)
So when I heard that one of my favorite children's brands, HABA, offers adorable play sets featuring Lucy the Cat and Leo the Hound, I knew they would be a huge hit with my kids. As a matter of fact, Sophie had just told me she wants a kitty toy, so it almost felt like divine intervention.
Of course I already know how wonderfully made HABA products are, since Romeo the Well Fed Toad has enjoyed tons of use and occasional abuse by my babies. They have dragged him through the yard, tried to stick real bugs in his mouth, and he has even been "fed" to our dogs. Shockingly, he still looks brand new!
If you're not familiar with the awesomeness that is HABA, here is a little bit about this fantastic company.

Cat Lucy Play Set Review :
The folks at HABA generously sent us the Lilli and Friends Cat Lucy Play Set for review. It arrived quickly, and was very well packaged in a cheery box. Sophie and Xander squealed with delight when they saw the friendly kitty on the box!
Included in the plays set are Lucy the Cat, a plush, vibrantly colored kitty bed, and of course, a mischievous mouse. (Every cat needs a mouse companion, right?) These toys are made from high-quality fabrics with varying textures, which is wonderful for sensory development in young children. The colors are also very vibrant and fun.
They also feature embroidered details, which is much safer than sewn on eyes and other embellishments. Babies and young children love to put things in their mouths, so the fact that there are no potential choking hazards is a huge plus, in my opinion.
Sophie and Xander love imaginative play, and quickly began treating Lucy like she was a real kitty. They even renamed her. She is now known as Meatball, since our real pets all have food names. (I know...We're strange!)
Xander's favorite game is to make the kitty catch the mouse. He will hide the mouse in various places and then have Sophie take Lucy, AKA Meatball, on a mouse hunt. It's very, very cute!
Sophie on the other hand likes to pretend that Lucy is a Mama Kitty, and the mouse is her "baby". She places the mouse in the cat bed, and then has Lucy tell bedtime stories and snuggle up with the little mouse.
Overall, my kids really love the Lilli and Friends Cat Lucy Play Set. This play set is very well made, and is soft and snuggly. It's also compact in size, so I can easily toss this play set into the diaper bag for on the go fun.
Not a cat family? No worries! HABA also offers a Hound Leo Play Set for all of you dog lovers out there! He comes complete with a doggy bowl, a blankie, and a big, plush bone!
