***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation has been provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** ![]() Okay, I have to admit....I do not eat seafood. Ever. At all. I am an incredibly picky eater, and seafood is a major component on my rather extensive "Do Not Eat" list. My family however loves seafood, and I don't force my weird eating habits on them in the least. I don't think they'd be too happy if they never had eggs, onions, seafood, breakfast foods or desserts, just to name a few. So when I got the opportunity to review a selection of products from Gorton's Seafood, I knew my family would be incredibly excited. Gorton's has been a leader in the seafood industry for decades, and their dishes are always fresh tasting and very easy to prepare. So easy, in fact, that even my 13 year old son and my husband can make them without screwing anything up! The other night, Dan wanted some crispy, well-seasoned fish filets. The kids wanted fish sticks because well....they're kids! No worries, though! Since we had both on hand, I knew it would be a breeze to prepare meals that would make everyone happy. Dan had the Gorton's Skillet Crisp Garlic & Herb Tilapia. This was so simple to make, since all you do is place the filets into a skillet and cook until it's heated through and the outside has the desired amount of crispness. While I don't eat seafood myself, I have to admit it smelled wonderful while cooking. The aroma of garlic and herbs really is amazing, and Dan was eager to sink his teeth into these crispy filets. I served his tilapia with some green beans sauteed in garlic and butter, and some potato smiles. (These are pretty awesome. They're crispy on the outside and mashed potatoes on the inside.) Dan really enjoyed his meal, and said the Skillet Crisp Garlic & Herb Tilapia was spot on. The flavors were bold and exciting, the outside was nice and crisp, and the inside of the filets were nice and tender and perfectly flaky. The kids wanted some of Gorton's crispy fish sticks. I also served theirs with green beans and potato smiles. I got lucky since the fish sticks and potato smiles cook at the same temperature and time. It was as simple as placing it all on a baking sheet and setting our oven timer. The kids were also delighted with their meal. The fish sticks were crispy and crunchy, and they gobbled them right up. Gorton's definitely knows how to make food that is delicious and kid-friendly! Overall, we really enjoyed trying out several varieties of Gorton's Seafood. My hubby and kids get their seafood fix, and I enjoy the convenience and ease of preparation. Gorton's is definitely a great option for lunches or easy weeknight dinners. In fact, I am making their new Fish Sandwich Filets for the kids' lunch today!
