That's my husband, Dan. (And yes, we really were very windblown the day of my baby brother's wedding. Hence the messy head he's sporting there.) I have known Dan literally most of my life. We met when I was 13 and he was 17, and we even dated for several months. Which, let's face it, feels like forever when you're so young. 6 months of dating is pretty serious stuff. Anyway, I have to say, Dan started going gray very young. He was in his early 20's when the first silvery strands started to appear. Then they started coming in with a vengeance. By his mid-20's, he had a significant amount of gray. He actually blames his super-psychotic ex-wife, but that's a different post entirely. Dan is 37 now, and he's definitely got some serious salt-and-pepper action going on. I don't mind it at all, but thought it would be fun for a little change. I got the opportunity to check out Just For Men hair dye, and couldn't help but be just a wee bit curious about how the hubby would look if he covered up some of his gray. Luckily, when it comes to blog-related things, Dan is always a willing guinea pig, so he agreed to do it right away. No begging involved on my part at all. Just For Men offers a wide variety of hair coloring products designed specifically with him in mind. There are dyes for the hair on the head, as well as dye created for facial hair. There are plenty of colors available to match all natural hair colors, and you can choose between the Original Formula and the new Autostop Formula. The choice is completely up to him. They're all effective and very simple to use. Dan decided to use the Just For Men Original Formula in Dark Brown. The hair color comes in a convenient little tube, and all you need to do is screw in the comb-style applicator. Then, simply comb in the color, squeezing gently. Use the comb to distribute the color evenly throughout the hair. Then, after just 10 minute's, you're done! Couldn't get much easier than that! As you can see, the Just For Men hair color did a very good job of covering the bulk of Dan's gray. We intentionally left a little bit showing through, as Dan likes his gray, but the color blends in quite nicely and looks completely natural, too. Mama likes. Who knows. Maybe in 4-6 weeks, I'll be able to convince him to do it all over again. I am kinda digging this hotter, younger looking hubster.
Do you or the man in your life color your hair? What are your best tricks for getting good color and concealing pesky grays? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
