I wish I could say we were spared, but we weren't. In fact, we got hit pretty hard with a nasty, killer, mutant-flu that knocked us all on our butts for over a week. Do you have any idea what 5 people being sick for a whole week does to a household? For one, housework doesn't get done. It just doesn't. Sinks get completely filled with dishes, most not even rinsed. The countertops get cluttered with everything under the sun because people are too darn sick to put things away. Laundry piles up quickly, some of it covered in vomit and various other bodily fluids that I won't get into for decency's sake. Not to mention, sick people are covered with oodles and oodles of germs. There's sweat, snot, vomit, and other, mystery substances that tend to congregate on the body of a sick person. And of course, said sick person is too weak to shower, so they end up having a nasty smelling funk about them, which can then make the furniture they've been vegging on smell pretty interesting, too. So yeah. Being sick isn't fun, and cleaning up the aftermath can be quite the challenge. Since we're finally all healthy again, thank God, I am in the process of cleaning and freshening up the house. Now that we feel like human beings again, we don't want to live in the mess that got created while we were all zombie-like balls of mucus. Not to mention, any residual "sick vibes" need to be banished from the premises. I've had enough being sick recently to last me quite a long time. The best way to get rid of any lingering funk? Well, clean and freshen, of course! Usually, I look for natural, eco-friendly products to use in my home. I have kids, and they like to help clean. I can't just hand them chemicals and tell them to scrub away because that would just be bad parenting and a trip to the ER waiting to happen. Plus, eco-friendly cleaning products are made from safe, non-toxic ingredients supplied by Mother Nature herself! (That's the good stuff!) Sophie and Xander love helping, and with safe, natural products, they can. In addition to a house that needs a deep-cleaning, we also have a poor little dog who can use some freshening up. Trouble, my Yorkie, is very affectionate. So affectionate, in fact, that she insisted on being glued to our sides while we were suffering from the flu. This means she has been sweated on, sneezed on, and she has possibly come into contact with vomit at some point. Yep. Bath time. I use natural products on our pets, too. I have heard horror stories of pups having bad reactions to chemicals found in some traditional pet care products, and I just don't want to take any chances. Plus, my kids are always petting and loving on Trouble, and I don't want them to come into contact with all those gross chemicals, either. Thankfully, I have just what I need to clean and freshen both my home and the dog thanks to the Logic Product Group. This line-up of brands includes LiceLogic, TotLogic, BarkLogic, Natural HomeLogic, InsectLogic, and BedbugLogic. Basically, these groups of products offer safe, effective, natural solutions for the entire family, fur-babies included! Logic Product Group uses only the best natural ingredients, without all of the "junk" that traditional products use. These products are dairy, soy, and gluten-free, and are also free of any artificial dyes or fragrances. These products are also never, ever tested on animals, and are free of any animal-sourced ingredients. Oh, I should also mention that they're completely biodegradable, and come in recyclable packaging. I love the Bark Logic line of pet products. They offer pet shampoo and conditioner, which we use and LOVE, as well as this Natural Leave In Conditioning Spray. Since Trouble is a Yorkie and has more "hair like" fur that requires grooming, this spray has come in very handy. It keeps her fur smelling fresh, feeling soft, and it also adds shine. The best part? It easily detangles, too! The Natural Home Logic line is great, too. It offers plenty of products to help clean your home effectively, minus all the chemicals found in traditional cleaners. I am a huge fan of their toilet bowl cleaner and their all-purpose cleaner. Another great one that I have been using a lot of is the Odor Eliminating Spray in Citrus Grove. This has been an absolute God-send! Now my couch smells nice and fresh instead of like the sweat and body odor of flu-ridden sickies. And of course, the best way to prevent getting sick during cold and flu season is to wash those hands, and wash them frequently. Apparently, someone in my home missed that memo, and brought the flu home, anyway. The Foaming Hand Soap from Natural HomeLogic is gentle, cleans the skin very effectively, and it smells absolutely AH-may-zing. This soap lathers very nicely thanks to the foaming action, and rinses away cleanly with no gross residue. This, too, is safe for the whole family to use. Overall, I am definitely a fan of the versatile products offered by the Logic Product Group. These products are not only safe, non-toxic, and made from natural ingredients, they're also super-effective and do exactly what they claim to do. Oh, and the wonderful smells of these products doesn't hurt, either. If you're looking for effective, green solutions for your entire family, definitely check these guys out.
