And that strong, handsome looking gent is her long-term boyfriend, Nick. Nick and Colleen went together like peas and carrots, and had a love that most people search for their whole lives, and some never find. They're adorable together, aren't they? Sadly, in early December, Nick suddenly stopped breathing. Luckily, Colleen was there and CPR was attempted as the paramedics rushed to transport him to the hospital. Nick was life-flighted to a Washington, DC area hospital, and doctors immediately went to work to try and figure out the cause of this terrifying incident. It just seemed so unnatural...Nick was only 23 years old, and seemingly healthy. Over the next days, a battery of tests were performed while Nick was in a medically induced coma. They discovered that he had an undiagnosed problem with his heart, as well as substantial brain damage from lack of Oxygen, as well as a series of strokes and seizures. There was nothing the doctors could do to save him, so his family had to make the heart-wrenching decision to take him off of life support. Nick Lewis, a man known for his towering height and kind, gentle spirit, earned his angel wings on December 15, 2013. Right before Christmas. This sudden and unexpected loss has been devastating to our families, and of course, to the love of his life, Colleen. My husband and I decided that we wanted to do something for our cousin as she grieves the loss of her love. While nothing could ever possibly take the pain away, we wanted to do something to honor Nick's memory and bring her some sort of comfort during this difficult time. So when I got the opportunity to review a personalized photo collage from Reminds Me of U, I jumped at the chance.I just knew that this would be the perfect gift for Colleen, especially since she had taken so many photos to chronicle her relationship with Nick. This company offers personalized collages that are truly unique. The creation process is simple, and you can use your own photos or choose from hundreds of photos from the extensive library of images at Reminds Me of U. We decided to make her a large, 24"x30" collage that features 50 things that will no doubt remind her just how blessed she was to have had Nick's undying love. Of course we all know that he still loves her, and is her own personal guardian angel. (What a lucky girl!) Within the collage, I included a mixture of Reminds Me of U library images and Colleen's own personal photos. This was very easy to do, and took me about an hour. (I had to start over a couple of times because I was having computer issues and my images weren't loading properly on the website.) Once I had all my photos uploaded, I was able to rearrange them to be in whatever order I desired. We included photos of things that Nick loved, such as George Strait, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, Nascar, and his truck. We also included many, many photos showing special times that Nick and Colleen shared. They had a very adventurous relationship and loved to explore the world. Colleen is quite the shutterbug, so there were a ton of great photos to choose from.... (And yes, I did "steal" them from her Facebook page, with permission, of course!) We have included photos from trips they took together, gifts he surprised her with since he was a romantic kind of guy, and we also included photos of Nick...Well...Just being Nick. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to smile. Our photo collage arrived very well-protected, and made it here in one piece. The frame is gorgeous, and I love the fact that this has a very high-end, museum quality look to it. It's ready to hang, and is relatively lightweight for the large size of the print. I am also very happy with the way this collage turned out. The photos look great, and I love the fact that there is a little box that says "50 things that remind me of Nick". This just makes the gift extra special, in my opinion. Hopefully, our cousin Colleen will think it's special, too. We will be shipping this to her in Maryland, in hopes that it arrives in time for Valentine's Day. Nothing can replace the void that Nick's death has caused, but hopefully a cheerful display of all the good times will help her get through every day a little bit easier. So if you're looking for the perfect heartfelt gift for someone special, definitely check out the amazing photo gifts from Reminds Me of U. These collages are so incredibly beautiful and fun, and they'd make a wonderful gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or even just to say "I care about you." Gift giving doesn't need a specific occasion, after all. How to Connect :

This is one of the best reviews ever. Not just as a review, but for the story behind it. My prayers and blessings go out to all who knew Nick. Such a heart warming, tear running story. Life can sometimes be way to short. I hope all are holding on alright.
