You've probably got your Easter baskets made, eggs dyed, and the Sunday best outfits cleaned, ironed and ready to wear. On Easter Sunday, we will be heading to the Cleveland area to have a nice brunch with my Dad and stepmom, my 90-something year old Papa and tons of aunts, uncles and cousins. After we're done with that, we will be heading home for an Easter egg hunt and other activities. Just like Easter egg hunts, Peeps seem to be a lasting Easter tradition. After all, who can resist cute and colorful marshmallow chicks? I remember enjoying Peeps when I was younger, and now my kids will be making their own Peeps memories. (Hopefully these memories will go far beyond "blowing them up" in the microwave, which is something my brother liked to do with his Peeps on Easter!) Peeps have come a long, long way since I was a kid. They offer a whole lot more than just marshmallow chicks. A whole lot more. I received a very nice assortment of Peeps products to check out for myself, and I'd love to share some of the fun varieties with you. One product I really love is the Peeps Rainbow Pop. This is pretty self-explanatory. It's a long stick with 4 Peeps on it, creating a fun rainbow effect. My oldest son calls it a "Peeps Kebab". Which is actually a pretty accurate description! Isn't it cute? There are also come pretty neat flavored Peeps like the Party Cake Peeps below. In addition to tasting like a yummy birthday cake, these peeps are decked out with what looks like confetti. These are delicious, and definitely quite festive, making them ideal for any celebrations or special occasions you may have! Now these are definitely a favorite in my home. Chocolate dipped Peeps! These come on both traditional flavored Peeps dipped in creamy milk chocolate, as well as chocolate mousse flavored Peeps dipped in either milk or dark chocolate. These are amazing, and let's be real here....Who can resist a chocolate and creamy marshmallow combination? They are simply made to be paired, and I was thrilled to see that Peeps have done just that. Another must-have product this Easter is a Peeps Hollow Milk Chocolate Egg. This is no ordinary chocolate egg, though. It's got a fun surprise inside. Kids will love breaking their egg open to find an adorable Peeps Marshmallow Chick! This is so clever! Of course I put some of our Peeps goodies into the kids' Easter baskets. I also wanted to do something fun and creative with our Peeps. After all, these Easter staples are versatile and can be used in so many different, festive ways. Since I will be making a delicious ham dinner on Easter, I wanted to incorporate Peeps into our dining experience. Using a large divided serving platter, some Peeps products and shredded green Raffia, I made a quick and easy Peeps centerpiece for our dinner table. I included several different varieties of Peeps, including Chocolate Dipped Peeps, our Hollow Chocolate Egg, a Large Peeps Bunny, and several other goodies. These Peeps look right at home nestled in their grassy beds, and I know the kids will be so excited when they see it! (I've got it hidden away so no Peeps will be swiped until Easter.) This centerpiece was so simple to create, and would look great on a dining table or even as part of a buffet during larger family get-togethers. You could also incorporate a Peeps centerpiece into Easter related church activities and egg hunts! The possibilities are endless! If you'd like to get creative with Peeps this Easter, you've still got time! Peeps products are sold well...pretty much everywhere this time of year! With so many fun varieties, your family is sure to find something they'll absolutely love.
You can learn more about Peeps products on their website. You can also connect with them on Facebook and on Pinterest for their latest products, promotions, and plenty of ideas to fuel your creative side! How do you enjoy your Peeps this time of year? Do you just eat them out of the package, or do you use them for crafts and in recipes? I'd love to hear all about your ideas and experiences!
