I love my hometown. No, I really, really love it. As much as I love cheese. (And anyone who knows me, knows this is an addiction for me!) You see, I grew up in the most amazing little town. There were parks every few blocks, waterparks that are both indoor and outdoor, festivals on the riverfront, and some amazing high school football games. Yep, I live in one of those rare places where Mom and Pop businesses still thrive, and neighbors talk to each other.
I think part of the reason I love my town so much is because I moved away for almost 2 decades. I have to be completely honest, I hated Northern Virginia, and have always missed Ohio. Finally, when nothing was tying me to Virginia anymore, we decided to make the move and buy a house in my Ohio hometown. We have been here for a year now, and not too much has changed. Of course there are some changes, but many of the same places I frequented as a child are still around, and there is still a strong sense of community. I love that my kids will get to grow up where I did, and they seem to love it here just as much as I do!
One great way I like to show my hometown pride is by getting local apparel. Whether it be the high school football team, baseball, basketball, or even my son's school teams, I can find endless possibilities at Prep Sportswear. Their Vintage Team Shop has tons to choose from. There are universities, high schools, professional sports, and even little league type teams listed. You can search by state, or even narrow it down to your exact town. I was very surprised to find my rising 8th grader's school listed! Being a rather small town, I didn't really expect to be on the Prep Sportswear radar. What a nice treat!
Choose from endless logo possibilities of t-shirts, hoodies, iPad & iPhone skins - to gym bags, blankets, towels and beyond. Simply select a category, choose from hundreds of logos, pick your color, size and personalize the back with your name and favorite number. From start to finish, your guaranteed a look made just for you!
Here are some screenshots showing a few varieties for my local teams. As you can see, there are a wide array of styles. This is a small, small sampling. Since you can customize the apparel to your liking, the possibilities are endless!
My Review :
The awesome folks at Prep Sportswear sent me a shirt of my own so I could check out the quality for myself. My husband, being the smart aleck that he is, decided I should order a shirt that says Cuyahoga Falls Cougars. (You know....Cause I am in my 30's....and older women are sometimes referred to that way....Yeah...Pretty silly!)
I actually found a logo that I loved, so I went along with it. Hey, I can show team support and have an entertaining top to wear to the bar when we go see live music.
Anyway, my shirt arrived very quickly, and the first thing I noticed was the complete and utter softness of the garment. You know that battered old t-shirt you've had for years that has been with you through thick and thin? The one that is so well loved that it has a permanent softness to it? Yeah...This is exactly what my tank feels like. It's amazingly comfortable, and I love the racer back style. It's flirty and feminine, and definitely designed to flatter a woman's shape.
I chose a nice heathered blue color, and it's absolutely gorgeous.
I also love the quality of the logo design. This has held up very well to multiple washes, and has not started to crack or peel at all.
Overall, I am loving my experience with Prep Sportswear Vintage Team Shop. This is the perfect place to find trendy, stylish, and very comfortable team or hometown pride apparel. They have so many options, including a brand new line of golf-related items! Be sure to check them out while you're doing your back to school shopping.
