I have a confession to make: I hate exercising. I mean, I truly despise it. Anything that makes me sweaty and causes my entire body to hurt for a week isn't generally my idea of fun. But, in the name of getting fit and healthy, I am trying to change the way I view exercise. After all, this belly pooch is not going to magically disappear on its own. (Although wouldn't it be awesome if that could happen?!) So I have been trying a lot of different workout DVDs lately. Let's face it: With 2 toddlers to care for, I can't really get to the gym conveniently or consistently. A few I have tried felt like boot camp, and were nothing short of torturous. Let's just say they landed right back on the shelf and probably won't get used again any time soon. Not that they were bad workouts, but they definitely weren't "beginner-friendly". Recently, I got the opportunity to try a Bollywood-inspired workout routine called Doonya. I have always heard that this style of workout does wonders for the core, especially the tummy area. My biggest body complaint just happens to be my stomach. I hate it so much that I won't even allow my husband to touch it. I have had 3 c-sections, 2 of which were a mere 12 months apart, and a woman's body doesn't just bounce right back after that. So I figured Doonya was definitely worth a try! About Doonya : From renowned dance-based fitness studios, Doonya, comes the latest high-energy DVD series, “Doonya: The Bollywood Dance Workout,” available today. This cardio-dance and strength-building at-home program, perfectly choreographed to songs from Bollywood, features routines created by the founders of Doonya, Priya Pandya and Kajal Desai, previously available only at select studios. My Opinion of Doonya : So I have to be honest. I was more than a little bit intimidated at first. I cannot dance to save my life, and I was afraid that I simply wouldn't be able to keep up. I started out with the Beginner Breakdown DVD, and I followed along as the dance moves were taught. The instructors were very comprehensive and broke down the routines in a way that made it easy to piece together. I was pretty clumsy initially, but after a few days of following this DVD, I was a lot more confident in my abilities. After I felt somewhat comfortable with the moves, I moved on to the 2nd DVD, "Cardio Dance & Conditioning: Transform Your Body and Mind through Dance Fitness”. This DVD started with a warm-up and moved into a rather intense workout routine. (Or maybe I found it intense because I am not used to it?) It did make me sweat, but I was having fun as well. And I discovered muscles I didn't even know I had in the process! Thankfully, there was a relaxing cool down at the end that allowed me to bring both my mind and body to a slow and steady pace. The final DVD is geared specifically towards weight loss and body transformation. This is the DVD I have been using the most. I especially love the fact that it can be broken down into several quick routines. As a busy mom, I don't always have a full hour to devote to anything other than the kids. With this DVD, I can get a good workout in less than 20 minutes. And yes, it truly is a workout! You will get your heart rate up and break a sweat, but you'll have fun at the same time. Overall, I am really enjoying the Doonya workout. In just a couple of weeks' time, I have lost an inch and a half from my waist. I don't weigh myself much anymore because as an eating disorder survivor, the scale is my arch nemesis, but I do feel a difference in the way my clothing is fitting. It might be my imagination, but my butt seems to feel a bit firmer, too. And I feel better, all around. I am gaining confidence I didn't even know I had, and I am finally getting fit. Sure, it will take time, but the Doonya routine is so much fun that I actually look forward to my workout time. That, in itself, speaks volumes coming from someone who usually hates exercise. I would definitely recommend this program to any ladies out there that want to get fit, healthy, and bring out the Bollywood dancer within! Connect With Doonya : You can check out the awesomeness that is Doonya on their website. You can also connect on Facebook, on twitter, on Pinterest, and on YouTube! Enter to WIN ! I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will receive a Doonya Workout DVD to try for themselves!

I too hate exercise. An extra small is a bit too big for me.I've had two wonderful kids and lost weight quickly so I need to firm up. Sounds like you're doing great. Not that you need it!

It's very hard for me to exercise, due to health problems, when I do I end up in so much pain, I will be having hip replacements soon and I hope I will be able to do more after the surgery.

I would love to lose 20 pounds in the next 4 months! I know its going to take continued dedication and hardwork! (However, we may be preggers... so in that case, I would like to only gain what I must for a healthy pregnancy and continue daily exercise for a healthy baby and birth!)
