***Disclosure: I received complimentary products to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Woo-Hoo! Now that we know who the contenders are for the Big Game, it's time to start planning all those get-togethers, for those who haven't already! We will be having a small gathering of about 10-15 people, and planning has never been easier. Of course my hometown team, the Cleveland Browns, will not be playing in this year's Super Bowl. (Big shocker there, right?) And the team we root for, the Chicago Bears, won't be playing, either. (I wish they would get rid of Jay Cutler, but that isn't happening...) I hate to say it, but I truly have no vested interest in who wins this game. I don't follow the Seahawks or the Broncos closely enough to really choose a team. I will be happy regardless of the outcome. So naturally, when game day comes, I will be rooting for Bruno Mars. That's right. Bruno Mars. For anyone who knows me in real or "Facebook life", you're probably painfully aware of just how obsessed I am with this man. I think he is probably the single most talented musician/artist out there right now. He sings, writes music for himself and several other artists, plays guitar, piano and drums, and the boy can dance and entertain like nothing I have ever seen. You can try to argue the greatness that is Bruno with me, but you will not win....Bruno to me is what Jim Morrison or Paul McCartney was to women back in the day. So yeah... I will be focusing all of my game-day energy on the half-time show. Anyway, back to party planning. Sorry, when I get my mind on Bruno, I am easily distracted. Like I said, we will be having a small get-together to watch the game. Like any good hostess, I will be providing some delicious food and drink for my guests. But I won't be spending any time in the kitchen. (Can't miss a single Bruno dance move, right?) This year, we will be serving up some delicious goodies from HoneyBaked Ham! I know you probably already love their mouth-watering hams, but did you know they also offer catering services for just about any occasion? It's true! (Of course some items, such as the Super Sandwich, should be ordered the night before since they're made to order and might require additional time.) We were absolutely delighted by the selection of products available at HoneyBaked Ham. Ordering was super-easy, too. You can call your catering order in, or you can even place your order online. We ended up calling in our order to the Chapel Hill/Akron, OH location, and the associate was very friendly and helpful, making sure we'd get exactly what we wanted for our game day celebration. We ultimately chose to try out their Ultimate Super Sandwich, as well as their delicious Potato Salad and their Broccoli Bliss salad. The Broccoli Bliss salad is amazing, by the way....It has fresh broccoli, cheddar cheese, red onions, and a very flavorful dressing. It reminds me of the Broccoli Salad my Mother-In-Law used to make when she was living. The first time I tried it, I was just 13. I am so glad I discovered this dish, as it gives my hubby a nice memory of childhood and the mother who raised him. The HoneyBaked Ham Loaded Potato Salad was also very good. It's got a very unique flavor to it that I can't quite pinpoint...Maybe it's prepared with sour cream? Whatever makes it different from traditional potato salads definitely works, though, and is sure to be a refreshing change from the norm. This salad is creamy, fresh, and has a little zing to it that will keep guests coming back for more. Plus, it's so much easier than making my own! Of course the real star of the show would have to be the Ultimate Super Sandwich. This baby comes in a few different sizes, and can feed anywhere from 6-10 to 12-20 people, depending on the size ordered. The Ultimate Super Sandwich is packed full of fresh ingredients, most of which are prepared right in store. The HoneyBaked ham, HoneyBaked roasted turkey, HoneyBaked Spiced Bacon and premium quality Cheddar and Swiss cheeses are amazing. This crowd-pleasing sandwich is also complemented by fresh lettuce and tomato, and is served on a homemade artisan bread. Oh, and they also include a full bottle of HoneyBaked Ham's incredible Honey Mustard Mayo. (Are you drooling yet?) This is literally the best club sandwich ever, thanks to the high quality ingredients HoneyBaked Ham has been famous for for generations! So I think we will have a pretty nice spread of offerings when we gather round the TV to watch my man Bruno perform...Oh yeah, and watch some football game people keep talking about! These selections from HoneyBaked Ham are fresh and oh so tasty, and ordering was so simple. They had everything ready for us as soon as we walked in the door, and they even included tons of napkins, serving platters, spoons, and tongs. This is awesome, since it allows for minimal clean-up after our party! So if you're planning to get a group of family and friends together to watch Bruno Mars...err...the Big Game on February 2, be sure to check out all the great catering services from HoneyBaked Ham! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the selection and service they've got to offer.
