G is for Green Sponsor Spotlight: Re-Play Recycled Tablewear PLUS EXTRA ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS!4/13/2012 ![]() As Earth-friendly parents, we always try and find the purest, most natural foods for our kids. I shop organic whenever possible, and I also love locally sourced produce from local farmer's markets. I tend to steer clear of anything that contains a long list of ingredients that sound more like a science experiment than something edible. I also avoid foods with artificial colors or flavors, preservatives, and GMO's. It's a daunting task at times, but I have peace of mind knowing that my children are getting the best nutrition possible. While we worry so much about the food we serve our children and its integrity, we often completely overlook what we're serving the food IN. Many children's tablewear is made of plastics. Plastics have been known to contain harmful substances such as BPA, that can leech into the food or drink, exposing our kids to some very real health risks. Sure, plastic is durable. Yes, it doesn't generally crack. But instead of buying traditional children's tablewear, why not explore a hipper, greener option? Re-Play Recycled Tablewear is a line of eco-friendly, durable, and attractive tablewear that is made from 100% recycled milk jugs. Because it’s made from #2, HDPE plastic, Re-Play products are BPA free, Phthalate Free, PVC free choice. And its one of the easiest plastics to recycle, and it can be recycled again and again. So drink your milk, and toss that jug in the recycling bin. I should also mention that Re-Play products come in attractive, easy to open packaging that is also made from fully recycled (and recyclable) materials! Being eco-conscious is something that Re-Play is very passionate about, and it shows! I love a company that shows this level of environmental responsibility. Re-Play products are tough and can withstand the use and abuse of multiple children over many years. These bowls, spill-proof sippy cups, divided plates, and utensils are all proudly made in the USA, and come in 4 vibrant, food-safe colors. They are also dishwasher safe which makes for easy cleaning! Green AND easy to clean? This mama is sold! But one of the things I admire most about Re-Play is their support of making jobs available to everyone, even those with special needs. Re-Play is currently working with Habilitation Center in Boca Raton, FL. This non-profit has a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, and employs adults with special needs. They are packaging some of the Re-Play product line, and they hope to expand to additional items soon! My awesome pals at Re-Play sent me a full variety of their recycled tablewear products to review with my toddlers. I received Spill-Proof Sippy Cups, Bowls, Divided Plates, and Utensils. I love that the colors are gender neutral for the most part. Sure, there is pink, but I am not above feeding my son with pink tablewear. (As you will see below!) Take a look! Overall, I am loving my tablewear from Re-Play. It's very durable, easy to wash, and is the perfect size for little hands. The utensils are easy to grip, and the spoon in particular has a deep "well" to scoop up food in. This is awesome, since a portion always seems to slide onto the child. With these spoons, more makes it to their mouths! I love the bowls, sippy cups, and divided plates, too! The sippy cups truly are spill-proof, and the divided plates make serving a well-balanced meal a no-brainer. Plus, these products are green! It just doesn't get much better than that! I would definitely recommend trying Re-Play to anyone looking for a greener feeding alternative. This tablewear is affordable, kid-friendly, and made to last! I Love the blue color. I think it is great that you can recycle them if they get broken.
