Okay, folks. This is a review and giveaway I am truly excited about. We all want special keepsake gifts for our babies, but sometimes these aren't the easiest items to find. One thing I happen to love are baby blankies. When I was a kid, I was definitely a blankie girl. I had 3 of them, if memory serves correctly: A yellow one and two blue ones. I am pretty sure my mom had to cut them smaller and smaller till they were gone to wean me off of them. But I do remember just how comforting it was to have my security blankets. I would wrap them around myself, snuggle with them, and carry them literally everywhere I went. So yes, I am definitely a fan of giving my kids their own special blankies. Kyle, who is now 11, had a plush Winnie The Pooh blankie, which he generously donated to his sister when she was born. But when I was pregnant with Xander, my youngest, I stumbled upon a great blog giveaway for a personalized, luxury blankie from a company called Fill In The Blankie. I was thrilled when I was chosen as the lucky winner of this giveaway, and I had a super soft fleece blanket custom made for Xander. When the blankie arrived, we absolutely loved it. It was soft, beautifully embroidered, and had a gorgeous satin trim. Xander loves his blankie, as you can see above, and I am sure it will be a keepsake that he keeps for many years to come. So when the nice folks at Fill In The Blankie agreed to let me review one of their fabulous blankies, needless to say, I just HAD to have one made for Sophie, my little princess. Fill In The Blankie specializes in customizable, personalized blankets in a variety of different colors and fabrics. Each blanket can then be totally customized with embroidery in many different colors and fonts. You can even choose glow in the dark thread! If you're a bit flabbergasted about how to personalize your blankie, they even have a ton of wonderful ideas with heartwarming phrases, as well as sayings to fit many different occasions. They will help provide the inspiration if you need it, but you have up to a whopping 200 characters to make this blankie your own. This really helps to make personalizing your blankie easy, and reflect just the sentiments you'd like. You can even have some really cute emblems embroidered on the blankie as well! For Sophie's blankie, I chose one of their trendy and ultra-feminine 400ct Sheety Blankies in the Pink Wallflower with Chocolate Back. This beautiful print complements my Sophie's personality wonderfully. I just love the colors, too! The blankie features a stunning floral pattern in a dusty pink against an off-white background. The back of this blankie is a solid, rich chocolate color. Along all four edges is a soft, luxurious satin ribbon that pulls the look together in a classically elegant way. Aside from being absolutely breathtaking, the blankets from Fill In The Blankie are of the utmost highest quality. You won't find any crooked seams or loose threads, and the embroidery is expertly done with close attention to detail. Fill In The Blankie only uses the softest, snuggliest fabrics around, so baby is sure to love snuggling in the warmth of their own personalized blankie. Take a look at Sophia's blankie! Isn't it lovely? Sophie absolutely LOVES her blankie from Fill In The Blankie. She loves to run around with it, waving it furiously in the air. But, that's my Sophie! Always on the go! I love the quality of these blankets, and I also love the fact that these are personalized especially for my children. These will be cherished reminders of their childhood that they will be able to hold on to and pass down to their children one day. But in the meantime, I love watching my babies snuggle up with these soft, luxurious blankies and seeing the smiles on their faces. A good baby blankie is essential. I love knowing that when my arms can't be around them, they can be wrapped up in the warmth and comfort of their blankies and always know just how special and loved they are. I would definitely recommend Fill In The Blankie to any parents, expectant parents, or anyone in general who just happens to love a child. These blankets are made with love, are of a superior quality, and make wonderful gifts! BUY IT: You can create your child's PERFECT blankie on the Fill In The Blankie website. You can also follow them on Facebook and on twitter to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! WIN IT: One VERY lucky follower will be winning their very own, personalized blankie from Fill In The Blankie! (Up to $100.00 value.) Please use this handy Rafflecopter form to enter! This giveaway is open WORLDWIDE! (18+ please) until 12:01AM EST on 10/10/2011. Winners will be chosen at random and will be announced here, tweeted, shared on Facebook, and contacted via e-mail. Attention everyone! It seems that Fill In The Blankie is STILL refusing to fulfill a giveaway prize from a contest I hosted back in December. Instead of doing what's right, they've simply changed their Twitter account from @FillintheBlankie to @FillntheBlankie. If their tactics annoy/anger you too, then please spread this news so that no one else will have a bad experience with this company either. They currently have LIVE reviews/giveaways going on right now, so please share!
