Do any of you have teens? Or more specifically, teen boys? I have a 13 year old son, and I swear this child is a bottomless pit! He seems to be hungry 24 hours a day, and often asks for seconds and even thirds at dinner time. I understand that he's growing at a very fast rate right now, so hunger is definitely to be expected. Most of the time, this is no problem at all. I cook rather large dinners for the family, and he has hearty breakfasts before he leaves for school.
Sometimes, though, his gigantic appetite comes when it's not the most convenient time. I have 2 toddlers to chase around, as well as a full work load here on the blog. I can't always drop everything to make him yet another snack. Thankfully, Kyle is capable of making some snacks for himself. He loves being in the kitchen, and really enjoys preparing his own snacks and light meals.
One of Kyle's favorite ways to snack is choosing Farm Rich snacks and appetizers. These come in some amazingly delicious varieties, including new Crispy Dill Pickles and Chili Cheese Bites, and are enough to satisfy even the most starving teen tummies.
Kyle recently had the opportunity to come shopping with us, so I allowed him to choose a few Farm Rich snacks of his own. I was hoping to find some of the brand new varieties like the Crispy Dill Pickles, but our Walmart did not have them in stock. So Kyle chose Toasted Ravioli, Mozzarella Sticks, and Pretzel Bites.
It wasn't long before Kyle had the opportunity to try out some of these snacks. After school the next day, he has a friend over to work on homework. Of course, they quickly got hungry. I decided to make them some of the Farm Rich cheesy Pretzel Bites. These can be prepared in the microwave or in a conventional oven. Since the natives were getting restless, I chose the quicker method this time!
Of course I had to try one of these myself. I have always been a sucker for anything cheese-filled, and these looked so delicious. The pretzel was nice, soft, and hot, and inside was a beautiful layer of sharp cheesy filling. I was sad to hand the plate over to the teens, to be honest.
We had burgers another evening for dinner. I made fresh sweet potato fries with them, but of course, Kyle is a picky eater and didn't want those. He decided to make some Farm Rich Mozzarella Sticks as a side instead. He used the conventional oven method, and served himself a pretty large portion. And then proceeded to eat every last bite that was on his plate. (I told you this kid has a monster appetite!)
Overall, we really enjoy Farm Rich snacks and appetizers. Yes, I generally do cook everything from scratch. But at times, I do like having convenience foods on hand, especially when dealing with a house full of ravenously hungry teens. With so many different, exciting varieties to choose from, Farm Rich definitely keeps them happy! These snacks are quick, easy to prepare, and are a flavor explosion in your mouth. They'd even be great for football parties and get-togethers this Holiday season!
