Sleep? I don't need no stinkin' sleep. Okay, that's a lie.....A lie I tell myself when I can't fall asleep at night. Seriously, I love sleep, probably more than sex and maybe as much as I love Bruno Mars. That's a pretty big maybe, though.
However, ever since becoming a mom 15 years ago, sleep is not something I get to enjoy nearly as much as I'd like. Between taking care of the kids' needs, the house, the blog, and a marriage, there just aren't as many hours in the day as I'd like. When it's finally time to pass out for the evening, I find that my body may be willing but my brain is not. There's too much mental chatter, worrying about things that need to be done the next day, etc. I truly have a very hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. If you're my friend on Facebook, you know what I mean. I am on there all hours of the night on a fairly regular basis.
I have tried many different methods to fall asleep more quickly. Lavender spray, low light and noise, and even different teas. I have had limited success. I refuse to take prescription sleep aids, since I had a very bad experience with them in the past. I was very pregnant, and ended up trying to leave the house at 2:00AM with no pants. Yeah, pretty creepy. So needless to say, I stay away from pills whenever possible.
Recently, I began using Melatonin to help ease me into a restful night's sleep. Melatonin is the hormone that controls daily day-night cycles of sleep. Some sleep disorders, such as insomnia and Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS), are attributed to low melatonin levels. Travelers suffering from jet lag and swing shift workers may also benefit from supplemented melatonin. As we age our bodies do not make sufficient melatonin.
Using Maxasorb Melatonin by Vita Sciences as directed is a safe way to fall asleep, naturally.
Here are the benefits of Vita Sciences Maxasorb Melatonin : -Decrease the time needed to fall asleep. -Increase sleepiness. -Increase sleep duration. -Infused with antioxidants and moisturizers. -Since it is greaseless, Maxasorb Melatonin is easily absorbed into your skin. I have been using this product for about a week now, and I am definitely pretty impressed. I just rub a little bit onto my skin about an hour before I want to be asleep. This is super-easy to apply, and I love the fact that the pump offers the perfect dose, There is no guesswork when trying to determine how much product to use. This cream has a light, pleasant scent and absorbs very rapidly into the skin. There is no gross, greasy residue, either. (Major brownie points there!) But the million dollar question is: Does it work? Yes! While Melatonin won't knock you out, it does help to relax the mind and the body, which makes it a lot easier to fall asleep and stay asleep longer. I have found that when using this product, my mind doesn't seem to race as much, and I am able to get very relaxed. I have been falling asleep much more quickly, and I haven't been waking up every hour on the hour. This means I wake up feeling much more rested, alert, and refreshed.
