![]() You may recall that in my recent Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Slipper review, I stated that I had a bone to pick with this company for simply being too awesome. You see, I wanted to enjoy my comfy slippers, but no one in my family would let me. Both my toddlers, the dog, and my 12 year old kept on hijacking them. I understand that, as a mom, there are many sacrifices I must make. Sharing my luxurious, super-plush Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Slippers shouldn't have to be one of them. After all, after a long day of chasing toddlers, dealing with a surly preteen and taking care of the household, I think I deserve to have a little bit of comfort, all my own! I am sorry to say, my epic "Battle of the Slippers" is still very much underway. Everyone still wants my slippers, so I have taken to hiding them or just keeping them on my feet at all times. I have hidden them on the top shelf of my closet as well as in the freezer. I have even hidden them under our sectional. The rest of the time, those babies are on my feet. I am not too proud to admit that I have even rocked these slippers on a Wawa run. (For those of you up north, Wawa is a convenience store/gas station...Kind of like an upscale 7-11, where the food is actually edible and made to order.) You may also recall that I mentioned that Nature's Sleep also offers pet beds, pillows, mattress toppers, and some of the most heavenly memory foam mattresses around. Much to my shock and delight, I recently got the chance to review one of their mattresses. This felt like winning the lottery, since I have been semi-stalking their website for months, drooling over their luxurious mattresses. I even had fantasies about resting on a Nature's Sleep mattress somewhere in the Caribbean, with the sound of the waves right outside the window and a nice, tropical breeze passing through a pair of beautiful French doors. Being the busy mom of 3, these fantasies often got interrupted. Always right before the handsome cabana boy arrived to cater to my every whim. Darn! So when the amazing folks at Nature's Sleep informed me that I was going to get a mattress of my own? Well, let's just say there was some hyperventilating and a goofy, uncoordinated happy dance, as well as hoots and hollers that woke up my toddlers. (Oops! Sorry, kids!) I spent a couple of hours scouring their website, comparing specs for all of their mattresses. Currently, there are 10 crave-worthy models, all with different peoples' sleep preferences in mind. I love the fact that Nature's Sleep uses an easy, firm to plush scale to rate each and every one of their mattresses. Now I happen to like a more plush mattress, so ultimately, after much deliberation, I chose the St. Cloud LUXE. This 12" mattress is the Rolls Royce of mattresses, and the most luxurious of all the Nature's Sleep offerings. The multi layered design creates sleeping perfection. The top layer of the St. Cloud LUXE mattress features 2” of exclusive Nature's Sleep proprietary vitex memory foam, specially formulated to offer unique softness and plushness. The second layer is 2” of their highest density advanced visco technology memory foam. These 2 top layers create a pressure free surface that molds and contours to you in an out of this world surface softness. The dual layered support core completes the package with 2” of pressure relieving foam and 6” high density support core. The waterfall cover is an 80/20 cotton blend and features a decorative black and grey cording and a grey micro suede side. The cover zips off for easy laundering and is antimicrobial for years of luxury and pleasure. The best of the best rates a 9 out of 10 on the Nature's Sleep firm/plush comfort scale. When my St. Cloud LUXE arrived, I could barely contain my excitement. My son was at school and my husband was at work. So what did I do? I lugged the box inside all on my own, narrowly avoiding a cardiac event. Hey, the box was heavy! It weighed almost 100lbs! I was amazed that the box contained a mattress. Queen sized, at that! Of course being memory foam and having no springs, the folks at Nature's Sleep were able to compress this mattress and vacuum seal it, fitting it into a box more suitable for shipping as well as lifting. The reason they use this VackPack process is to reduce their carbon footprint, as well as that of their customers. Here's how my Nature's Sleep St. Cloud LUXE arrived. Pretty compact, right? Although I was able to lug the mattress into the house, I am no dummy. I waited for my husband to get home to get it up the stairs and into our master bedroom. He had no trouble doing so, and quickly removed the sturdy packaging and laid it on our existing box springs. Since the mattress was compressed and vacuum sealed, it took a few hours for our mattress to "inflate" to it's normal proportions. It can actually take up to 24 hours, so any wrinkling of the fabric quickly dissipates as the mattress settles into it's proper shape. This meant I couldn't hop right onto it, which was very tempting as soon as I felt the soft, velvety fabric on the cover and the plushness of the memory foam. Resist I did, and once the mattress was ready to be used, I was very impressed by the look of the St. Cloud LUXE in all its glory. Here are some photos showing the great attention to detail found in Nature's Sleep mattresses. You can tell that this company takes great pride in their products, and only offer superior quality to their customers. Please note, the mattress was about 95% "inflated" when I took these photos. Any inconsistencies quickly went away on their own within a few hours. Aside from being 12" thick and ridiculously plush, there are a lot of little details I'd like to point out that make the St. Cloud LUXE truly special. First, check out the waterfall cover. This is an 80/20 cotton blend and is velvety soft. On the lower half, there is a stunning grey micro-suede, adorned with an elegant black and grey silky cording. This gives the St. Cloud LUXE a 5 star resort feel, even in the chaos...oops, comfort, of my own bedroom! The top of the mattress cover is equally attractive. The folks at Nature's Sleep use natural cotton, and this is proudly displayed on their covers along with the Nature's Sleep logo. This is a nice added touch that gives the mattress a lot of character. I don't know about you, but I love little details like this. Even though a mattress may be covered with sheets 99.9% of the time, I like simply having the knowledge that what I am sleeping on is truly top of the line. With a dull, bland and boring mattress, I just don't get that impression. They do say first impressions are everything, and my first impression of the St. Cloud LUXE was extremely favorable. ![]() Doesn't this bed look amazing?! I couldn't contain my excitement about this bed and I called all of my family and friends to tell them all about the great mattresses from Nature's Sleep! Like me, many of my loved ones suffer from allergies. Mine are horrible, and it seems like I am allergic to darn near everything under the sun. So having a mattress that is allergy-friendly is a must. Nature's Sleep mattresses are made using sustainable, natural materials, making them the perfect choice to those with any sort of environmental allergies or sensitivities. To me, that alone was worth an enthusiastic phone call or 10! The washable covers are even made with a special Eco-Shield germ barrier which is 100% compostable and biodegradable. I happen to love eco-friendly companies, and Nature's Sleep tops the list. Not only do they think about the comfort of their customers, but about their impact on the environment as well. From their manufacturing process all the way down to their packaging, Nature's Sleep has a strong commitment to the environment. Who says going green can't be luxurious? Much to my dismay, as soon as we prepped our St. Cloud LUXE, it happened...Again...I guess I cannot enjoy my own bed in relaxing solitude. Much like my Nature's Sleep Memory Foam Slippers, my brand new mattress has been claimed. This time, by my toddlers. Sophie and Xander immediately climbed onto it and started laughing, squealing, jumping, and playing. They both seemed to absolutely love the feel of this mattress, and it took over an hour to get them off of it to put the bedding on. So the St. Cloud LUXE passed the kid test before I could even enjoy it for myself. Take a look at my babies enjoying MY brand new mattress! This isn't a "family bed", either. They sleep in their own beds every night. Or they did, until they got a feel of our new mattress. Now it seems that they find any reason they can for late night snuggles in the "big bed". I suppose I can't blame them for wanting to upgrade to Mommy and Daddy's bed. The St. Cloud LUXE is absolutely amazing. Since the top layer of the mattress has a 2-layer support system, it creates a virtually cradling sensation that instantly relieves any aches or pains you might have. This dual-layer system is made of 2" layer of plush vitex memory foam as well as a 2" layer of high density visco memory foam. This, my friends, is a magical combination! Beneath the oh-so-cozy top layer is 2" of pressure relieving foam as well as a 6" high density core. This is NOT the case with other memory foam mattresses. Nature's Sleep has really put a lot of thought into their engineering, and it definitely shows. This is the ultimate experience in comfort. Sore backs and stiff necks are a thing of the past now! Although my husband prefers a much firmer mattress than I do, he loves this mattress. Although we have had a memory foam mattress for the past 7 years, we found that we were still struggling to get comfortable. Perhaps it was because our old mattress didn't include so many specially designed support layers. It was just one hunk of foam, and didn't offer such great support over time, causing aches and pains. He used to wake up with backaches regularly. With Nature's Sleep and their fantastic design, this is no longer the case. Each layer has a purpose, and it makes for a comfortable, restful night's sleep. Since your body literally molds to the mattress, there is no need to toss and turn, looking for that one perfect spot or position. This means you sleep more deeply and stay asleep longer. Upon waking up, not only do we feel very well rested, we're also free of any annoying stiffness in our muscles. Another thing I love about the Nature's Sleep St. Cloud LUXE is that it doesn't overheat like many conventional memory foam mattresses tend to do. Our old mattress was also made of memory foam, and it ended up making my husband sweat oceans every night, making it feel more like a sauna than a bed! (Pretty gross, right?) Since we've been sleeping on this mattress, my husband has not been overheating and I am not waking up in a swamp. Trust me, waking up because you've rolled into a puddle is not the best way to start off the day! I also love the fact that my allergies have not been acting up, either. I am allergic to so many things already, and my bed should not be one of them. I used to wake up in the morning with the sneezes or incredibly congested, despite washing the cover, vacuuming, and shampooing our old mattress. Since we've gotten our Nature's Sleep mattress, this has not been the case at all. I wake up with a clear head, open sinuses, and a rested body. Definitely a nice and very welcomed change of pace. A girl can get used to this! Overall, we adore our St. Cloud LUXE mattress from Nature's Sleep. I haven't gotten such a good night's sleep in several years, so I definitely appreciate the level of comfort I get when sleeping on this mattress. I love the velvety soft feel of the cover, and the support offered in the mattress, while remaining nice and plush, is absolutely incredible. I get the pillow-soft, cloud-like feel I crave and my husband gets the support that he needs. It's definitely a win-win situation in my home. Now if only I could convince my 2 and a half year old, Sophie, to let Mommy have her bed back...I want a nap, and she seems to have taken over! So again, I have a dilemma. It seems that Nature's Sleep is just a little bit too awesome. Like my slippers, my bed has been taken over. Oh well. I am attempting to teach my toddlers to share...Maybe I should lead by example and just accept the fact that my kids love Nature's Sleep as much as I do! I would definitely recommend Nature's Sleep to anyone who is looking for a truly rejuvenating night's sleep. Sure, there are plenty of memory foam mattresses out there. Trust me, they are not all created equal. We much prefer our St. Cloud LUXE to our old big-name memory foam mattress. The quality of construction and design are far superior, the customer service is amazing, and this company has a strong commitment to the environment and the world we live in by offering products made from natural and sustainable materials. Oh, did I mention Nature's Sleep products are also much more affordable than the competitors? Better quality...Better price...Eco-friendly... It just doesn't get any better than that!

Lack of sleep can often be caused by health problems, such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea or a neurological problem, but it can also be caused by simply having poor sleep habits.

I just received this mattress and had my first night's sleep on it last night. It does not seem firm at all and I actually have neck and lower back pain today. Will this mattress soften up and if so, how long does it typically take?
