Ditch the Painful Underwire For Good With Genie Bra!

Since I work from home, I fully admit, I would rather sit around braless that walk around wearing an uncomfortable, underwire bra. For one, while they definitely make my "gals" look nice, by the end of the day, the thin straps have dug into my shoulders and created ugly red marks. Another thing I hate is when that underwire slides around and pokes at my skin. It's painful, so I skip those bras altogether unless I am going out or having company over.

I have heard that going without a bra is bad in the long run for gravity reasons, so I would usually just wear a sports bra or one of my old, comfy nursing bras when sitting around at home. While I suppose this was better than nothing, they still weren't very comfortable, and were ill-fitting.

Then I discovered the Genie Bra. I know what you're thinking...It's that "As seen on TV" bra, right? Yep! My first experience with the Genie Bra was when I got one at Walmart a few months ago. I just had to try it, since it has no hooks, underwire, or closures to have to fiddle around with. The Genie Bra is made from a soft, stretchy material that actually conforms to your shape, and sizing is based off of your shirt size. Couldn't be easier!

Recently, the awesome folks at Genie Bra sent me a 3 pack of their neutral colored bras, as well as their new Slim and Tone Leggings for review. I was thrilled to add to my Genie Bra collection, and even threw away a few of my "normal" bras to make room in my drawer for them.

Here are some photos of the Genie Bra in nude and white. Notice the black is nowhere to be found. Well, there's good reason for that! I was wearing it!
Picture
As you can see, the Genie Bra looks like a sports bra, only nicer. (And about a zillion times more comfortable!) There are some major differences between the Genie Bra and sports bras, though. Have you ever noticed that sports bras tend to squish and flatten the "girls"? Well, the Genie Bra actually lifts and separates, just like a traditional underwire bra, but without spillage, bulging, or the need to constantly readjust. (Have you ever been out and had to tug and pull at your bra straps? Embarrassing!) The Genie Bra stays in place wonderfully, making it quite possibly the most comfortable bra ever.

While I am not currently nursing, I have heard that the Genie Bra is amazing for new mothers. No, there aren't any flaps to open, but the Genie Bra is easy to lift up to feed a baby. While not nursing, this bra will give a nursing mother the ultimate in comfort and support.

There are also modesty cups that can be inserted into the bra, which will prevent looking to cold, if you get my drift. These cups also add volume and lift, just like a push up bra would.

These cups can be slid into the bra through small openings. The cups are thin and flexible, so they are very easy to insert and remove.

So I am very shy about taking photos of myself, especially my chest, so I will post this before and after photo from the Genie Bra website to show just how big of a difference the Genie Bra can make in your appearance. Notice the before shot? There is spillage, bulging, and it's just not flattering. The after picture is so much nicer looking in my opinion. Her gals are lifted, smooth, and there are no uncomfortable bulges.

Overall, I really love the Genie Bra. It's like a second skin in a way, and you can barely tell it's there. In fact, it's comfortable enough to sleep in! Can you say that about your current bra? The straps are soft and wide enough that they don't slide down the shoulders, and they leave no red marks whatsoever. The bra truly does lift and separate, leaving a nice, feminine silhouette. You can feel confident wearing the Genie Bra with all of your clothing and be assured you will always look fabulous. In fact, the Genie Bra doesn't even "show" under your clothing, so there are no annoying bra-lines.

The one thing I would like to point out is that the Genie Bra is a full-coverage bra, and is cut rather high. This can give the illusion of a cute cami under a deep v-neck top. But for those who are looking to show off some serious cleavage, well...The Genie Bra might not be the best choice for those sexier, more revealing outfits. But for everyday use, this is definitely my bra of choice. No hooks, wires, or need for adjustments? Seriously the best bra ever!

I also got to try out the brand new Genie Bra Slim and Tone Leggings. These leggings conform to your body and act as some super-powerful shapewear. However, the look like "normal" leggings and can be worn on their own for a trim, cute look.

These leggings appear seamless, and eliminate bumps, bulges, cellulite, and seem to lift and shape your booty while sucking in any "wobbly bits" you might have. (I have had 3 kids, all via c-section, so I have the dreaded belly pooch!)

I actually wore these leggings out the other night. My Dad is in a band, so my husband and I headed out in the snow to see them play. We met a friend of mine there, as well as my awesome Step-Mom, Missy, and everyone commented on how cute my outfit looked. I paired the leggings with high-heeled boots and a cute, rock-and-roll style 3/4 length top. The look was great, and these leggings really did make me appear slimmer. They were also very comfortable, and I didn't need to tug at them constantly like I do with traditional shapewear. There were no panty-lines peeking through, and the fabric didn't slip or bunch at all.

Again, I really don't want to plaster photos of my butt all over the internet, so here is a stock photo showing before and after. It is very accurate, and shows how dramatic the difference is:

The only thing you'll want to keep in mind is that you really should wash the Slim and Tone Leggings before you wear them. They are very, very tight if you don't prep them first. Once they've been washed, they are much more comfortable and conform to your shape perfectly, while allowing you to breathe.

Like the Genie Bra, the Slim and Tone Leggings are very versatile, and can be worn with so many different kinds of outfits. Pair them with a cute top or even with a dress, and you've got a winning look. You'll even appear sizes smaller, and no one will even be able to tell you're wearing shapewear. How cool is that?!

Overall, I am very happy with both the Genie Bra and the Slim and Tone Leggings. They're ridiculously comfy, easy to care for, and really do work to make a woman's body look it's best...Even if she's had back to back children and isn't in the best shape. I would definitely recommend these products to anyone who wants to look their best without any painful straps to tug at or discomfort. Give it a try! Once you try the Genie Bra, you just might throw out all of your underwire bras, too!
