![]() It seems to me that everyone around me is getting pregnant lately. Except for me, of course. I had my tubes tied after having Xander, and that's a decision I have actually come to regret. (That's a whole different post in itself!) Since so many friends are currently expecting, I have been keeping my eyes open for cute, unique baby gifts. Sure, I could go out and purchase a teddy bear or standard blankie for the many upcoming baby showers I am attending, but I prefer giving gifts that stand out. That's why I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to review the Babyopoly Swaddle Blanket from babychix. First of all, I love the idea of incorporating humor into a gift for new parents. The Babyopoly Swaddle Blanket has the look of a Monopoly board, but is full of fun, often exhausting, trials and tribulations of babyhood. Some of the squares include "Dad changes poopie diaper. Get out of crib free", "Play Patty Cake" and "Toy Chest". The Babyopoly Swaddle Blanket comes beautifully packaged in a tulle gift bag and is adorned with a beautiful, satiny ribbon, making it perfect for gift-giving. The fabric used in this blanket is thick and soft, and is sure to be very cozy for any little bundle of joy. The cute, baby-related images on the blanket are vibrantly colored, and since babychix uses sublimation printing, the colors stay vibrant and resist fading. Let's face it, with a new baby in the house, messes happen! Take a look at how unique and adorable this swaddle blanket is! Overall, I am in love with this swaddle blanket. It's very well made, definitely cozy, and the design is so much fun. I think any new parent would be sure to enjoy the humor in this blanket. As a matter of fact, I have a Mommy-To-Be in mind that I plan to give this to! I know she's going to love it! Another reason to consider buying a Babyopoly Swaddle Blanket is because babychix is a company with a huge heart. Their "One Change at a Time" movement is about increasing the awareness about foster care, encouraging adoption in the USA and providing a better life for these kids. As a matter of fact, a portion of every purchase goes to assist foster children here in the United States! This is an issue that is near and dear to my heart for so many reasons. First of all, my husband was adopted and grew up in an amazing, warm family. Adoption is actually very common in his family, and he has an aunt and uncle who have adopted 4 kids, 2 of which were foster children in the Los Angeles area. Also, while we were trying to conceive, we struggled with secondary infertility. This was devastating to say the least. During our struggles, we were actually looking into adoption. We got approved with a great agency, and then BAM! We were pregnant. We have decided that should we choose to further expand our family in the future, we want to give back and give the gift of adoption. I would definitely recommend the products at babychix. Not only do they have the most adorable gift ideas, they are giving back to kids, one change at a time. You can also become a fan of babychix on Facebook and on twitter I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
