***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way. Are you an animal lover? If so, you know that while having fur-babies brings tons of joy, it can also bring some very nasty smells. Whether it's urine, feces, "cat gak" or just the smell of animals in general, pet-owners face quite a challenge eliminating pet odors. Sure, there are candles, potpourri and scented oils. These are wonderful and smell nice, but they don't truly eliminate the offending odors. Often times, they don't even cover them up. We have tons of pets. Okay. Tons is a bit of an overstatement. But we do have both cats and small dogs, and they can definitely put out some odors! In fact, whenever there is ANY odor in my home, chances are, our pets are the culprits. Here are the usual suspects. This is Pringles, Havarti, and Truffles. They're a sweet bunch of kitties, but their litter boxes aren't quite as nice.... This is our teen's cat, Noodles. She kind of keeps to herself and doesn't hang out with the other kitties much. But of course, she does also use a litter box...And litter boxes stink to high heaven! Now onto the dogs...Oh, the dogs. If they weren't so adorable, I'd probably go insane from the messes they make! They're all basically still puppies, and they love to leave a path of complete and utter destruction in their paths. Thankfully the chewing of shoes and toys has stopped, but we still deal with the occasional accident. This is Trouble, my cute but supremely stubborn Yorkie. She is my little love bug and a huge pain in the butt. Trouble, in perfect Yorkie fashion, has been incredibly hard to housebreak. She will go outside, but she isn't too great about letting anyone know when she NEEDS to go....So obviously, I end up with puddles and poos on my floor. Yuck. Yes, there is a dog in there under all that fur, I promise. This sleepy Shih-Tzu is Bear. He's a sweet little pup, but also has the occasional accident, usually when he's excited. Thankfully he doesn't get excited often...He is a great big, lazy dog trapped in a 12lb body. He's generally content to lay around like a big oaf and enjoy some belly rubs. And last but certainly not least, we have Snickers. Snickers is a lab/shepard mix, and she is my husband's dog. He felt a bit silly having little "sissy dogs", and he wanted a "real dog". Well, Snickers is the not-so-big "big dog". Yes, she is fully grown, and is not very big at all, as you can see! Snickers is probably the worst offender of them all. She does not listen to anyone but my husband, and has a severe case of Doggy ADHD. She's totally spastic, most of the time. And of course, with excitement can come piddles. She is usually pretty good about only going outside, thankfully, but on the rare occasion that she messes, it's usually pretty disgusting. So there you have it! These are our fur-babies. We've got a pretty full house! Since the dogs are small and the cats do their own thing, it's not at all a hassle usually. Except, of course, for the messes and lingering odors. So when I discovered a revolutionary new way to totally eliminate pet odors, I was pretty excited. Skeptical, since I have tried everything, but excited, nonetheless. The CritterZone is a teeny, tiny little device that plugs into any standard electrical outlet. It comes either as a direct plug-in, or in a corded version. This little device promises to not just cover but totally obliterate even the most stubborn odors. Here's more info about this product. About Critterzone : The CritterZone Air Naturalizer creates a natural, charged flow that fills the room or vehicle and continually cleans the air. The sun provides the outdoor air with the power and energy it needs to clean itself: a power and energy that indoor air lacks. CritterZone provides indoor air with the natural charge it needs to virtually eliminate odors, allergens, dust and bacteria. The CritterZone Air Naturalizer makes energized versions of the natural elements already found in the air. It puts them to work, causing a series of reactions, just like the ones that happen naturally outdoors. These energized elements are given the power to clean up the air and help get rid of odors, allergens, mold and bacteria. After the initial clean-up, the Air Naturalizer maintains the energized elements throughout the 800-square-foot space. This means the air is ready to deal with new challenges immediately. That helps maintain a clean, fresh environment in your living space. One of the wonderful things about the CritterZone is that there are no filters to buy or replace. Everything is done within the unit itself. However, like any air-cleaning product, it does need to be properly maintained to ensure the best possible performance. Here is a brief video showing just how easy it is to clean the CritterZone. But Does It WORK ? I have one word that will answer that question....YES! I was a bit shocked by how well it works, to be honest. We have larger, MUCH more expensive air purifiers that do not eliminate odors half as well as this tiny little plug-in unit. We opted to choose the plug-in unit, since kittens, puppies and cords don't seem to fare well in my home. When the unit arrived, I was very surprised to see that it is about the size of most plug-in scented oil units. So it's definitely very, very compact. The CritterZone has both a high and low setting, and they both work very well. We've tried both, and usually end up using the high setting because the area it's in can get pretty funkified. It's in a large, walk-in pantry that houses 2 litter boxes and has a small half-bath adjacent to it. There is little to no air circulation, so when a person has an extended bathroom event, the smell tends to linger, smacking the next person who enters the room in the face with a horrid, putrid smell. I know...That sounds absolutely disgusting, and I tried to state it as politely as possible. After we initially plugged in our CritterZone in this very stinky area, we walked away for a couple of hours. When we opened the pantry door, we were shocked....We could not smell ANYTHING. No cat pee, no feces, no teenage boy residual poo smells...Nothing. It literally smells like fresh air outdoors. You know, that really clean smell you get right after it rains? That's the best way I can really describe it. We have been using our CritterZone for several weeks now, and it has been going strong the whole time. One thing I will point out is that our unit did get a build-up of whitish residue, and about the same time I noticed it wasn't working as efficiently. This is completely normal. and just means the unit needs to be cleaned. (See video above for cleaning instructions.) Cleaning the unit only takes a few minutes, and it brings it back to like new performance. I even conducted a little experiment to see how well this would work in a more open area. I plugged in a Scentsy warmer and added a heavily scented tart to it. Soon, my home smelled like cinnamon and cloves. Then, I plugged in the CritterZone before running some errands for a few hours. When I got home, the Scentsy unit was still on, but I could not smell a thing. And this is in a BIG room. My family room is 24' by 28', so it's not a small space. I was really surprised that it would eliminate even the strong scent of my Scentsy products! Wow! So please note: If you have "smell good" stuff in your home, you might not want to plug the CritterZone in anywhere near it...You won't get the opportunity to enjoy the smell, since CritterZone will totally neutralize it! I would definitely recommend the CritterZone Air Naturalizer to anyone, with or without pets, who would love a simple, eco-friendly way to eliminate odors in their homes. I don't have pets at the moment but my neighbor downstairs has a dog and 2 cats. There are days that the smell is so overpowering my daughter and I cannot use the front entrance. Our eyes water and we actually gag. I've told her and told her on these days but now I can tell her about this, thank God. Thank you for this post.

We saved a kitty and brought her inside. I don't know what it is (we've also had her fixed), but her urine is SO STRONG! I've had cats before and it was never this stinky! I have to scoop her litterbox every day, but I'm tempted to follow her around and scoop as soon as she pees! It's terrible!

Even religious twice-daily scooping doesn't always keep the odor away - the Critterzone would be a great addition to my cat's bathroom.

Definitely might be worth a try here--we have 7 cats, with 2 of the litter boxes in the laundry room, and 4 dogs. The biggest problem with 'accidents' is one of the older dogs--he has become much more resistant to going outside, or at least to ask to go outside.

We have four cats and *someone* in my house loves to spoil them with bits of deli meats every day. They love it, but I DO NOT love the foul putrid stench that later emanates from their litter box. It amazes me so much smelliness can come from such little animals.
