As much as I love summer, I do have one major, major gripe...The colds and allergies I can never quite seem to avoid, thanks to faulty sinuses. Seriously, when I have a bad day, it's truly awful. My nose runs, I sneeze, my eyes get watery and itchy, and my throat closes up. Sometimes, it's even hard to breathe.

Our Review of Violet the Hippo :

The folks at Crane USA wanted my family to check out the cool mist difference, so they generously sent me one of their Adorables line to check out for myself. I chose Violet the Hippo because, well, she's just too darn cute! (It was a tough decision, though! They have so many cute ones!) 

The instructions were incredibly simple to follow, and we had our humidifier working in no time flat. Simply add water where shown, put on the top, and plug in. It's recommended that you empty the water daily and disinfect on a weekly basis. This ensures that the moisture going into the air is clean, fresh moisture. 

The controls are also easy to use. There is one dial that controls the unit. You can control the intensity of the ultrasonic mist, as well as turn the unit off and on from this dial. 

We have been using Violet the Hippo for about a month now, and I have noticed quite a difference in how I feel. I fall asleep easier, and stay asleep, thanks to the fact that this unit is super-quiet. I have also noticed that when I am having a bad day congestion wise, this seems to relieve my symptoms very effectively, without having to rely on medications. It also seems to help my hair and skin stay better hydrated. Added beauty benefits always score major brownie points with me, since I need all the help I can get! It has even helped quell my husband's snoring a bit. That in itself makes this unit worth its weight in gold, since Dan snores like an army of chainsaws, which tends to wake up the whole house!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Crane USA's Cool Mist Humidifiers. These fun units are cute to look at, but they can also help your family through colds and flus and beyond. This is one of those must-haves for every household, in my opinion. They'd make a fantastic baby shower gift, or even a housewarming gift!
