***Disclosure: This information is provided through a #NaturalSmiles paid partnership. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Did you know that February 2014 is National Children's Dental Health Month? It's a great time to not only teach kids the importance of daily brushing and flossing, but also make those appointments for cleanings and exams. My kids absolutely HATE the dentist, so I am always looking for ways to make dental visits more fun. Whether it's singing silly songs, brushing their dollies' teeth, or reading storybooks about the dentist, we try and show our little ones that good oral health is important and nothing to be afraid of. (Which is hard, since I have a huge phobia regarding dentists! Of course I'd never admit that to the kiddos!) Starting January 21, the awesome folks at Tom's of Maine have teamed up with OHA to offer kids a way to express their creativity, learn about oral health, and even help those in need. How cool is that?! On January 21, Tom’s of Maine announced a free coloring and activity book called “Brushing Fun,” which supports Oral Health America, a national nonprofit dedicated to oral care and prevention. With each free coloring book download, Tom’s of Maine will donate 10 tubes of its Wicked Cool! natural toothpaste (up to 200,000 tubes) to children in OHA’s Smiles Across America program. Now I think that is wicked awesome, don't you agree? Of course we wanted to take part in this wonderful initiative, so we downloaded the Brushing Fun coloring book for Sophie and Xander to enjoy. It was easy to download and simple to print once we braved blizzard- like conditions to get ink for our printer. This coloring book is 8 pages, and offers fun activities like mazes, a word-search, and even pages where kids find hidden items while they color. You can even personalize this coloring book with your child's name so they're the star of the story! How cool is that?! Sophie and Xander have been having a lot of fun coloring these cute pages. Of course since they're 3 and 4 years old, they're not exactly Monet, but I think they did a really good job staying in the lines. And of course, Sophie just had to make the bunny rabbit pink! In addition to having some fun, cold day coloring time, your download donates 10 tubes of Wicked Cool! Toothpaste AND allows you to enter to win some fabulous prizes! Parents can show off their kid’s creativity and inspire others to get involved by sharing a photo of a completed page from the coloring book on Facebook or Instagram using #NaturalSmiles for a chance to win a Tom’s of Maine natural oral care prize pack and a $100 Utrecht Art Store gift card to foster their child’s creativity. Five winners total, one each week.
