Chuggington:The Chugger Championship DVD Review And #GIVEAWAY! 11/11

My kids, like most others, have an odd fascination with trains. They love watching them go by when we pass the railroad crossing down the street, and they love watching animated trains on television. My daughter Sophie especially loves them, and pretends to BE a train and says "Toot,toot" whenever she so much as sees a train, whether it be animated or in person. (Guess I need to start looking for a wooden train set for my daughter!)

That's why I was thrilled to get the opportunity to review the newest DVD in the Chuggington series, "The Chugger Championship." If you haven't seen this delightful series before, I highly suggest you check it out with your family. A colorful and contemporary CGI-animated TV series from Ludorum that encourages early social readiness skills, “Chuggington” follows the amusing escapades of three young trainees, Wilson, Brewster and Koko, as they learn to “ride the rails” of life and become productive chuggers.  The exciting train property for preschoolers airs daily on Disney Junior, Disney Channel’s programming block designed for kids ages 2-7 and their families.

In “The Chugger Championship,” the traintastic trio is ready to put their “wheels to the rails” for the biggest race in Chuggington!  These six, action-packed adventures will have the whole family cheering. Young fans join Wilson, Brewster and Koko as they prepare for a test, invent a new contest and pick up a fun hobby, while learning about the importance of accountability and responsibility.  Along the way, the three friends – and viewers at home – discover that a true champion isn’t always the one who finishes first!

“The Chugger Championship” is the newest addition to Anchor Bay Entertainment’s “Chuggington” DVD collection, which also includes “Chuggers To The Rescue,” “It’s Training Time” and “Let’s Ride The Rails.” 

MY OPINION:

My children absolutely loved this DVD. The characters are friendly, bright, and colorful, and there is never a dull moment in "The Chugger Championship". The scenes are cheerful and action packed, and are able to hold the attention of younger viewers quite easily. In my home, this is sometimes a problem since my toddler, Sophie, loves bouncing off of the walls...and furniture...and the dog....Let's just say my little diva rarely sits still. However, she sat rather intently while enjoying the newest adventures in the Chuggington series. She even talked to the characters and say her usual "Toot,toot" as the trains raced down the railways. Even my 9 month old, Xander, seemed absolutely transfixed by this DVD. He was full of smiles and giggles, and squealed with delight as he watched. It was cute to see him kicking his little feet in total glee as he watched Koko, Brewster, and Wilson race away in this fun DVD!

As a mom, I really like the message that the Chuggington series sends to young audiences. This particular DVD teaches friendship, perseverance, and responsibility. With so many programs available for kids, I am always very appreciative of programming that helps instill positive life lessons and kindness in its viewers. It's hard enough to find these positive influences in today's world, and Chuggington is a series I can feel good about allowing my children to watch. Plus, the characters are bubbly and cute and honestly were a pleasure for me to watch, too! Let's face it: There are certain shows and movies that drive parents absolutely bonkers. Chuggington isn't only tolerable, it's fun! I would definitely recommend "The Chugger Championship" to any families with young children. This would even make a fantastic gift this Holiday season!
