***Disclosure: I received product samples and children’s fever reducer ice packs from Claritin to review. No other compensation was offered. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** ![]() Anyone who knows me in real life knows I have struggled with severe allergies my entire life. Whether they be seasonal, pet related, or to environmental factors like dust, I suffer constantly. It's really not a lot of fun at all! My first memory of my suffering was from early childhood. For some reason, my Mom thought it would be a great idea to make me wear a white rabbit fur coat. Well, this darn thing had me breaking out, sneezing, and made my eyes water incessantly. I have to admit, I HATED that coat...More than I hate onions...And that is a LOT! Unfortunately, my son has allergies, too. They're mostly seasonal. We use Children's Claritin because it's the #1 pediatrician recommended non-drowsy allergy brand. My son gets relief from his sneezes and watery eyes, and he doesn't get sleepy at all. He prefers the grape chewables, since he doesn't like swallowing pills, although the other varieties work well, too. Recently, I hosted a little "Spring in your step" gathering with neighborhood kids and parents, featuring Children's Claritin. We received supplies for our meet-up including a 2013 Preparedness Checklist, neat cooling masks, samples of Children's Claritin and allergy tips and tricks. While the kids played on the playground and bounced in the bounce house, the parents talked about the checklist and discussed the importance of the items listed. This covered everything from Automobile Safety to Natural Disasters to Yard Safety. There are some really great tips here! And of course, the kids liked cooling off with the freezer-safe masks. They liked wearing them "Goggle-Style" as you can see below! Overall, we had a great time sharing our experiences with other families, as well as hearing theirs. It was nice to get to know more of our new neighbors, and learning new ways to help keep our families well and safe in any situation. Of course we talked about allergies, too, and it seems that almost everyone had some form of allergy.
Do your kids suffer from allergies? How do you cope? I'd love to hear your tips!
