The Lunar New Year, which is based on the phases of the moon, will be celebrated on February 19, 2015. This important holiday is celebrated by Asians, including Asian-Americans, and is a time of great celebration. Traditional celebrations include parades, complete with loads of fanfare, firecrackers, and even the much-loved Lantern Festival, where gorgeous lanterns are carried in a night time parade to usher in the new year. How cool is that?! The folks at Best Buy love to recognize the beauty of diversity. In honor of the Lunar New Year, they are offering an Asian-inspired, Lunar New Year Gift Card. The Lunar New Year gift card features Koi fish, Chinese characters, and of course, some beautiful golden lanterns. It really does capture the spirit of this important global holiday! This gorgeous card can be purchased in both physical and e-gift card form, and will be available on BestBuy.com from November 1, 2014-February 22, 2015.

One of the greatest benefits living in NYC metro area is the multi cultural exposure. There are huge celebrations & parades for the alumnae New Year.

That is so neat! I would LOVE to be able to see the parades. I hear the food in NYC is amazing, too. I am a fan of Greek and Italian, especially! Of course what we have here in OH is a pale comparison to authentic restaurants you likely get to enjoy!
