Celebrate the Heroes In Your Life With the Community Coffee Military Match Program #MC #Sponsored7/10/2014 ***Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting Community Coffee. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating. As always, all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Well, the 4th of July has come and gone. Whether you stayed home and celebrated with family and friends or headed out to a fireworks extravaganza, I hope you kept in mind the reason for celebration: Our freedom. I have been thinking about this in the quiet hours of the morning as I enjoy a cup of coffee and get some reading in on my deck. I'm sure you've heard the saying a million times, "Freedom isn't free." This statement is very, very true. We owe a debt of gratitude to our brave service men and women who put their lives on the line for our great nation. Even those who never see a battlefield make huge sacrifices. They are often separated from their families, and let's face it, that's got to be tough. My family has a hero of our own. He was MY hero long before he joined the military, though. My Uncle Greg was always the "fun uncle" who would teach us to play little ditties on the guitar, watch scary movies with us, and he would always tell the funniest, often inappropriate, jokes. Greg was always in a rock band when I was growing up, so when he made the decision to chop off his long, "rock star" hair and join the military, I think everyone was more than a little bit shocked. Fast forward about 18 years....My Uncle Greg is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force. Greg has been overseas quite a bit. First he was sent to Kuwait, then to Afghanistan where he served a year or so in some very dangerous territory, and finally, he spent a couple of years in South Korea. This last deployment ended up being a very good one, as he gained a WIFE! He just returned to the United States a couple of months ago, but had to leave his absolutely beautiful Korean bride, my new aunt, behind while her paperwork gets squared away so she can join him. I can't wait to finally meet her! During his various deployments, my uncle was separated from his now ex-wife as well as from his children. He missed out on the everyday joys that most parents completely take for granted. Even though, as an officer, he had never taken part in combat, I know it had to be very difficult being so far from the country he called home as well as the people he loves the most. I, for one, am grateful for his sacrifice and am just so completely overjoyed that he is finally home, on American soil. The folks at Community® Coffee think of our brave service men and women often, too. In fact, they have an awesome Military Match Program that helps bring a taste of "home" to American soldiers everywhere. This family owned and operated American coffee company will match any Military Match set purchases, plus send an additional four bags of coffee and a signature mug to an APO/FPO or military base address you provide. These sets come in several sizes, including sets of four 12oz, 16oz, or 18ct single serve coffees. So basically, when you purchase a set, Community® Coffee will send the SAME thing you ordered, plus an additional four packages of coffee, to the military address of your choosing. It doesn't matter if the recipient is overseas or stationed at a military base down the road. How cool is that?! We recently received some Community® Coffee products to try for ourselves. My husband preferred the Dark Roast. It has a nice, full-bodied, wake-you-up flavor. I loved the Breakfast Blend and the Hazelnut the best. Of course when I drink coffee, it doesn't actually resemble coffee anymore. Rather than being dark, it looks more like a light caramel due to the fact that I tend to go very heavy on the creamer.
We were quite pleased with the quality of these coffees, and definitely plan to purchase more. Especially since we have the chance to show our support to the United States Armed Forces while doing so. If you'd like to help support our troops by sending them a nice package of good old American coffee, definitely consider purchasing a Military Match Set from Community® Coffee. . Does your family have military ties? I'd love to hear your stories!
