Okay, so I'm totally sane, do not have a shopping cart that I roll down the road full of random knick-knacks, and I don't live alone and yell at passerby children. But I do have 4 cats. So that counts, right? Anyway, my kitties are Noodles, Pringles, Truffles and Havarti. Yes, they all have cutesy food names. We're weird like that. My cats are spoiled rotten, and are truly like my babies. They're so much fun to watch, and do really silly things like hide in boxes and climb up brick walls. There is one thing they do, however, that drives me absolutely bonkers. They scratch. We have no shortage of scratching posts and cat trees, but for some reason, they seem to like scratching on our carpet, too. Lucky for me, we only have 1 room that is carpeted. The rest of the house is hardwood and vinyl flooring. My cats seem to always choose to scratch right near a doorway. Why? I have no idea. But cats do lots of things that are beyond understanding. Some people see declawing their cats as a solution to scratching. I don't agree with this practice at all, since it is actually extremely painful for the cat. Not to mention, if a kitty gets outdoors, they would be defenseless against wildlife and feral colonies. Plus, the fact that my kitties have claws means that they kill mice when they get into my house. And I am terrified of mice. Thankfully, there is a great product that helps eliminate problem carpet scratching. The CarPET Scratch Stopper is designed to fit into standard doorways, and makes it impossible for kitties to scratch and do damage to carpets. The CarPET Scratch Stopper is a thick, plastic mat that fits into the doorway areas in your home. It has little "nubs" that help keep it in place perfectly. We have ours in between our family room and dining room. We also have a baby gate here to keep our little humans from wandering through the house. Overall, the CarPET Scratch Stopper has worked wonders in our home. The kitties aren't able to scratch the carpets anymore, at least not in their preferred spot, so they have taken to using their many scratching posts instead. (Hooray!) I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with feline friends in their home. It's a wonderful alternative to declawing, and will help keep your carpet in one piece. Since it's clear, it doesn't appear tacky or ugly, and fits in well with any decor. This comes in a few different sizes, too, so there's bound to be one to suit your needs. How To Connect : You can check out the CarPET Scratch Stopper on their website. You can also follow them on Facebook and on Pinterest to stay on top of their latest news! Enter To WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one very lucky reader will receive their very own CarPET Scratch Stopper!

I have a very bad black kitty named Ozzy who has scratched up two new carpets just at the doorways of two rooms upstairs. Now I guess I have to cut those pieces out, cut new one's, and glue them down. Bad Kitty!

We have 4 cats. We have an old man with irritable bowel syndrome. Salt is 12 years old and loves to beg. Fred is our fluff ball. He likes to roll over and trip people. Then our baby Mia is just coming out of her shell. She came to us badly abused and we have slowly helped her heal both physically and mentally.

One of our cats shreds the corner of our mattress, the other cat shreds the wood on the bed frame. In a few months we will be sleeping on the floor in a heap of wood shavings and mattress fluff!

I have five rescued fur-babies and and 13 year old border collie, who acts like a cat. They are wonderful! BabyGirl, Cookie, Sweetie, Little Man and johnny Cash. Even though they can get crazy at times they have been faithful companions to me! They are always there to give me a pur when i need it!

My cat Shadow used to go to town on the sofa cushions. Thankfully she's found some self control now, but there's the occasional scratching fit she goes into.

My cats are the best although they have been gaining too much weight. I need a new catfood (because they get a decent amount of exercise)

I have 3 cats. Luna is hyper, Phoeniz hates attention and Jack is totally lazy, but the lazy one scratches our carpet under our door at night when the door is closed. We've been meaning to get a rug for there, but that would get ruined eventually too, so this is a great option.

We have one kitty, her name is Cheyanne. She's a very large cat who doesn't like to be away from us. Thus no closed doors if we ever want any peace. Heh. This would help!
