Anyone who knows me in real life can tell you, I struggled for YEARS with an out of control soda addiction. From about 13-26, it was a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew every single day. (Eeeek!) After that, I switched to Dr. Pepper. This addiction was not only unhealthy, it put me on the fast track to diabetes and other health issues. I knew I had to do something, because I didn't want to open myself up to such awful health problems. Not to mention, I wanted to lose weight. Several months ago, I stopped drinking regular soda altogether. I mean, I quit cold turkey. Once I got past the initial witchiness brought on by caffeine withdrawl headaches, I discovered how to "trick" my taste buds into thinking I was having soda, even though I wasn't. How did I accomplish this? With flavored, sparking waters! They gave me the fizziness I was accustomed to as well as the flavor that I craved. All this without the massive amounts of sugars and the unwanted, empty calories. I am a huge fan of sparking waters, and I drink them all the time now. I also have diet sodas as well, but in moderation.
That's why I was thrilled to get the opportunity to review the sparkling waters with juice from Cascade Ice. These tasty, sparkling waters are only 2 calories a serving, are gluten, caffeine and sodium free, and they come in some mouthwatering flavors like Coconut, Acai Blueberry Pomegranate, and even Strawberry Chocolate! As a matter of fact, there are 3 different varieties of Cascade Ice and 33 tempting flavors! You want cocktail mixers? Check! Standard sparking waters? Check, check! And then of course there is the sparkling water with juice. Your taste buds won't have time to get bored, that's for sure!
I was lucky enough to receive an assortment of best-selling flavors of Sparkling Water with Juice. Included were the Grapefruit, Coconut, Peach Mango, and Blueberry Watermelon. The first one I tried was the Coconut. It was definitely a treat...Cool, tropical tasting, and refreshing. I love coconuts to begin with, and this variety certainly didn't disappoint! The next one I tried was the Blueberry Watermelon. I loved the tartness of the blueberry and the sweetness of the watermelon. This is the perfect drink for a hot summer's day! (Or any day, for that matter!) I also loved the Peach Mango. This one was tart, sweet, and had tons of flavor packed into only 2 calories. I admit, I absolutely HATE grapefruit...With a passion...It makes me gag! So I gave the Grapefruit Sparkling Water with Juice to my 11 year old, Kyle, who thought it was amazing. He drank it in about 5 minutes and was sad that there weren't more!
Overall, I would definitely recommend Cascade Ice products to anyone looking for a skinny alternative to sodas. These sparkling waters are crisp, refreshing, and pack a flavorful punch. I love the variety that Cascade Ice offers, and I also love the fact that these yummy beverages are free of sodium, gluten, and caffeine. As a mom, I feel good about serving these fun drinks to my family. As a woman, I love the fact that these won't sabotage my weight loss efforts by adding unwanted pounds. Cascade Ice rocks, plain and simple!
