***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation has been provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** There has been a lot of hype nowadays about coconut oil, and for good reason! The coconut is one versatile fruit. It is a fruit, right? My husband is trying to argue with me on this point, and I am fairly certain I'm right. Anyway, coconut not only makes killer desserts and adult beverages, it also has wonderful health and beauty benefits! I cook with coconut oil often, since it's a healthy fat. I also use it on my skin and hair, since it's incredibly gentle, hydrating, and nourishing. Some people love the benefits of coconut oil but aren't crazy about the oily, greasy texture. After all, greasy isn't right for every application. Recently, I discovered CapriClear. CapriClear is pretty ingenious, if you ask me. This handy spray made from 100% pure coconut oil. It's easy to apply, and is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and non-greasy. Major, major brownie points for nixing the grease factor! What makes CapriClear so unique? It's made from fractionated coconut oil. Fractionated coconut oil (FCO) is a fraction (portion) of the whole oil, in which the different medium-chain fatty acids are separated for specific uses. Lauric acid, a 12-carbon chain fatty acid, is removed. Fractionated coconut oil may also be referred to as caprylic/capric triglyceride oil or medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil because it is primarily the medium-chain caprylic (8 carbons) and capric (10 carbons) acids that make up the bulk of the oil. MCT oil is most frequently used for medical applications and special diets. As part of this method, the familiar coconut smell is eliminated. All Natural Benefits of 100% Fractionated Coconut Oil :
I have been using CapriClear a lot lately, since it's currently about -35 with the windchill. No, I am not insane enough to leave the comfort of my Snuggie in this cold, but our home's heating system can be rather drying to the skin, lips, etc. I have been spraying CapriClear on typically dry areas like the knees, elbows, ankles, and heels to give them some extra, moisturizing TLC. It has really made a difference! I have noticed that these areas aren't becoming rough and flaky, and I have had no problems with dry, cracking skin.
I have also used it in my hair for added moisture and shine before heat styling. It acts as a wonderful protectant against heat damage. Yep! You can use coconut oil for that! And it's WAY better than dousing your hair in a chemical sh*tstorm before going at it with a steaming hot iron, don't you agree? There are other impressive uses for CapriClear, too. Did you know that coconut oil can help soothe the misery of eczema? It is also great for cuticles and nails, and can visibly improve the appearance of stretch marks. Not that I would know anything about those pesky things, of course. (I'll keep telling myself that, haha. Three pregnancies definitely left their stripes!) Overall, I am absolutely crazy about CapriClear. It's so versatile that I can use it for about 5 million different things. I love the fact that it has no discernable scent, and a completely non-greasy feel. It definitely adds moisture and soothes my dry skin this winter. I even use it on my kids! Another added bonus is the fact that CapriClear is portable, and can go into any purse or diaper bag so you can use it whenever you need it. If you have been curious about coconut oil, or you're already a fan like me, definitely check out this wonderful product. I know you'll find yourself reaching for it as often as I do. Love your blog, great article on CapriClear. My whole family use this product every day. It's a great moisturizer for dry, itchy skin and for those who suffer from itchy skin from eczema. Love the price too!
