Can You Use Simple Green On Pet Messes? Yes! Plus GIVEAWAY 5/8

Any pet lover knows that loving a furry friend is very rewarding. You always have someone happy to see you, even when you're at your absolute worst. Yes, even if you're wearing Pajama Jeans and a top that's completely covered in some unidentifiable form of baby goo, and your hair has crusty oatmeal in it that said baby flung at you earlier, and you're so frazzled you forgot about it completely. When you have a pet, it's all about unconditional love. There are always snuggles, "kisses", and a wagging tail that wants nothing more than to make the stresses of your day disappear.

While these are some of the wonderful things about having pets, there are some things that aren't so pleasant, too. No one likes coming home and stepping in a cold, wet puddle. Come on, you've been there. We all have. It's part of being a pet parent.

Pets, much like children, have occasional accidents. This can be frustrating for several reasons. First, pet messes smell. Even after you scrub, clean, and disinfect, chances are, there may be a lingering, not-so-fresh funk. There's nothing worse than going out to run errands, coming back into a house that appears clean, and smelling dog. In my opinion, if a home doesn't smell clean, it probably isn't, no matter how nice it looks.

Secondly, pet messes can leave stubborn stains behind. I happen to have white carpet throughout most of my home. This is horrible, and I will never understand why they even make white carpeting. With a preteen boy, a messy husband, two active and equally messy toddlers, and our Jack-A-Bee, Chloe, keeping our carpets clean is an ongoing and often losing battle.

Also, pet messes can prove to be difficult to contend with because once an animal has claimed a certain spot as their "indoor potty", they tend to visit the same spot over and over again. This is because animals have a very keen sense of smell, so they are able to detect hormones left behind, even after a good scrubbing. It's enough to make me want to carpet my home in Astro-Turf and be done with it! Okay, so that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it is very frustrating, to say the least.

I am always on the lookout for non-toxic, effective ways to combat pet stains and odors. When I found out Simple Green has a line of products formulated just for pets and their frazzled owners, I was very excited. I love Simple Green, and use their Original formula for almost everything, from indoor cleaning to outdoor cleaning. My husband even uses this on his tools and automotive equipment, and it works like a charm! It even gets stubborn soap scum off of tubs with no elbow-grease required. Simple Green is miraculous, to say the least. Since it's completely non-toxic, I don't ever need to worry that my children or pets are in danger of becoming sick from chemical overload.

For the past month, I have been using Simple Green pet products on all of my toughest pet messes. I wanted to use it for an extended period of time before posting my review because I wanted to see how well it worked long-term. Many so-called pet formulas seem to work initially and then odors and stains come creeping back over time.

I received the Simple Green Dog Pet Stain and Odor Remover and the Simple Green OXY Dog Stain and Odor Oxidizer for my review. Since Chloe, our Beagle/Jack Russell mix is pretty well behaved, I didn't have any fresh messes to contend with for quite some time. I did, however, have some stubborn, set-in pet stains that I decided to try these products on while I waited for the inevitable accident.

I went through the house like a mad-woman, spraying these products on anything that appeared even slightly yellowish on our floors. My toddlers thought it was really funny! Once I sprayed, I went back with a scrub brush and scrubbed each spot. Much to my surprise, the stains, even old ones, disappeared.

Take a look at an example of a doggy accident that Simple Green Dog took care of right away:

See the big, yellow spot?

Now it's gone!
I have used these products extensively for about a month now, and I have noticed a huge difference in the look and smell of my carpets. When Simple Green said their pet products truly eliminate odors at their source, they weren't kidding around! They even work on poop, vomit, and any other messes your pet can throw at you! The best part? There have been absolutely no issues with resoiling!

I have even used these products in our carpet shampooer and have had amazing results. One room totally changed colors. I had forgotten just how white the carpet really was before we shampooed using Simple Green. Before, we had been using Walmart's brand of carpet shampoo in the Pet formula. The Simple Green Oxy Dog Stain and Odor Oxidizer blew the store brand completely out of the water.

As wonderful as these products are for pet messes, I have found they work equally well for toddler messes. Pets, babies...It's all the same, right? My babies tend to fling food, spill soups, and even pee on the floor during naked time. (We have naked time for potty-training purposes.) Simple Green takes all of these messes completely out of our carpets, wood floors, and even our furniture.

Overall, I am totally impressed with the effectiveness of Simple Green Dog products. They work well, they work quickly, and they keep working. I haven't had any stains or odors reappear, and my home feels like a home again instead of a zoo! These products are wonderful for pet owners or even those involved in pet rescue operations or shelters. Since the products are non-toxic, they're a safe choice around furry friends!

My mom used Simple Green to clean her driveway of oil stains the week before my wedding. I had a garden reception at her home, and the drive was lined with candles for our first dance, so she wanted it to be really clean. That marriage might have ended in divorce, but my family has had a great relationship with Simple Green ever since!

I have used Simple Green before. I have NOT tried their pet products and am anxious to do so. Our dog is getting older and she has started having quite a few accidents. We are getting desperate to find something to use.

I have used Simple Green for many years-it was one of the first cleaning products available that I could use around pets. I prefer the newer scents though as the original was a bit strong. I use it now to clean my floors.
