After co-sleeping for what my husband would claim was an insane amount of time, it's the end of an era. The kids are finally sleeping in their own beds. (Well, for the most part. Some mornings I wake up to find a child has snuck into my bed.) How do I feel about this long overdue transition? Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit sad. I love my "baby snuggles". Of course I can't deny the fact that Sophie and Xander are no longer babies. They are 4 and 5 years old. Unfortunately, this means it's time to sleep in their "big kid beds".....All alone. Without Mommy. (Yes, I am holding back some sobbing here.)
Anyway, we recently reorganized the kids rooms and purged them of any outgrown or out of season clothing. We also donated a ton of toys. We wanted to get the rooms ready to actually be lived in, so minimizing the clutter was our top priority.
Another thing we did to help welcome our littles to their new rooms was adding new bedding that's not only stylish and soft, but kid-friendly, too! The folks at BSensible offer a great line of bed linens for cribs as well as Twin or Full sized beds. These sheets and pillowcases are made from a unique, moisture resistant material that is not only breathable, it is also super soft. That's right. Long gone are the days of squeaky, crinkly, uncomfortable plastic mattress protectors. (Who wants to sleep on plastic, anyway?!)
We received a Twin sized fitted sheet and pillowcase in Lime to check out for ourselves. They arrived very quickly, and were very well packaged. I have to be honest. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from these products. When I hear waterproof, I automatically picture those horrendous furniture covers found on the ancient sofas of old ladies the world over. So imagine my delight when I opened these packages and felt super-soft, almost silky material. Seriously, folks, these feel like the luxurious sheets you might find at a higher-end hotel.
We decided that these sheets would be the perfect addition to our son, Xander's room. His room is "Monkey themed" and has plenty of browns and greens throughout. The Lime color matched his decor perfectly.
The BSensible Fitted Sheet was very easy to put on Xander's memory foam mattress, and it fits incredibly well, thanks to the durable elastic.
, the fitted sheets are composed with the new generation of innovative textile technology called: , specially conceived for bedding products.
The BSensible Kids Pillowcase is made from the same silky waterproof material, and it also features a zipper. I absolutely LOVE this feature, since it prevents pillows from flying out of the case during a major pillow battle. And my kids love their pillow fights!
Xander has been loving his new bedding from BSensible. He says it's very "soft and comfy", and he really likes the vibrant lime color. I have noticed that he gets less sweaty at night with this bedding, even though he likes to bundle himself up in blankets year round. The materials used in these sheets definitely help wick moisture away, leaving a happy, dry kid.
As a mom, I love the fact that these products have a 100% Natural surface material, and help keep any fluids AWAY from the mattress. You know....Should accidents happen. Who are we kidding, though? With small kids in the house, accidents are fairly common, whether it be a spilled drink or a nighttime rush to the bathroom gone wrong.
Overall, I am definitely extremely impressed with BSensible's products. They are very high-quality, machine washable, and they help prevent middle of the night sheet changes. This means a better night's sleep for the little ones, and a better night's sleep for ME. And when Mommy is happy, EVERYONE'S happy.
Well done, BSensible!
