My daughter Sophie is almost 4, and she is already at the point where she's graduating past "baby" dolls. She much prefers dolls older girls play with, such as Bratz dolls. (Where did my little baby go?!)
Another thing Sophie really, really likes is anything that has to do with superheroes. She has her own cape, complete with an "S" monogram, and she will zip around the house yelling things like "So-Phie POWERS!" It's really very cute until she tries doing things that are truly death-defying, like running along the top of our sectional and then leaping. Trying to convince my kiddo that no, she cannot really fly, has been quite the challenge!
So when I learned that Bratz has come out with a brand new Action Heroes line, I knew Sophie would absolutely freak. After all, Bratz Action Heroez dolls combine 3 of her favorite things: Fashion, dolls, and superheroes. Bratz have been a long time favorite of young girls everywhere for years, and this summer they have completely gotten a makeover. This line is no exception!
We received the ultra-chic Shira Bratz Action Heroez doll to check out for ourselves. We absolutely love her sleek purple jumpsuit and flowing cape. And of course, in true Bratz fashion, she has some killer high heeled boots.
Shira has gorgeous, flowing brown hair with bright red streaks as well. My kids absolutely love this, since they're all about color and funky fashion trends. Also included are a brush to keep her locks in tip top shape, and a little mini-Bratz doll that can be used to play an interactive game! (More details about that in a moment!)
My daughter loves playing with her Bratz Action Heroez Doll. She runs through the house with her, fighting crime. (Usually the cats and dogs are the culprits, but occasionally it's her baby brother that needs to be brought to justice.)
Speaking of her baby brother, my son Xander is also quite smitten with Shira. Yes, I get that he is a boy. Yes, I know that some think boys shouldn't play with dolls. But the way I see it, my kids are 12 months apart in age, and if they want to share toys and play nicely together, there is no harm in that at all. Even if it means that my son plays with dolls and my daughter plays with cars and tools.
Okay, remember I said that Bratz Action Heroez come with the ability to play an interactive game? It's true! You can use the mini-Bratz doll, along with your iPad 2, 3, 4, Mini; iPhone 4, 4S, 5; iPod Touch 4th and 5th generations to go on a fun, action packed adventure!
There are 2 different ways to play: Adventure mode and Virtual Experience mode. In Adventure mode, you do not need a doll, but will automatically play as Yasmin unless you have another doll. You will then embark on a quest in Passionview and your character will gain strength and experience as you pass through each level. Of course there are different tasks, and you'll be trying to save Passionview from the evil clutches of Evilla Vanderbelt. In Virtual Experience mode, you use the included mini-doll and mat to have a truly interactive experience. This uses the Bratz Action Heroez dolls and mats. No matter which mode you play, you're bound to have a fantastic time unleashing your doll's super powers!
Overall, we are really enjoying the Bratz Action Heroez dolls. They're super-fashionable, and a great way to show young girls that women can be strong, brave, and kick some butt!
