![]() I don't know about your part of the world, but here in Virginia during the warmer months, it can get downright muggy. Even at night, the humidity can be absolutely dreadful. While I keep my house as cool as possible without breaking the bank with an astronomical electric bill, certain rooms don't seem to cool as well as others. This includes the room my babies sleep in. For some odd reason, that room seems to remain a good 10 degrees warmer than the rest of my house. So it isn't uncommon for my babies to wake up sweaty and sticky during the spring and summer months. And any seasoned veteran mamas know what can come with a hot and sweaty baby: Heat rashes and other skin irritations brought on by excess heat and moisture. It can be difficult to curb this problem, as a lot of infant sleepwear isn't made of breathable fabric, and the excess moisture doesn't evaporate very quickly, leaving baby more susceptible to these common skin irritations. My babies do not like sleeping in just a diaper, and I do not give them heavy crib bedding to sleep with for safety reasons, as recommended by most bedding manufacturers. I often put them to sleep in just a onesie, but that leaves them with chilly limbs at times. And who wants popsicle toes? Not me, and I don't want my babies to freeze, either! Another option I have turned to are your standard fleece or cotton coverall style footie-pajamas. Normally, these are my favorite sleepwear options, but they are not ideal for the warmer months at all, since they can cause my babies to overheat and get all sweaty and sticky. So what's a mama to do? I would love to share with you HALO's newest innovation that addresses this very problem, their new line of ComfortLuxe Sleepwear! First of all, let me tell you that HALO is well known for being a leader in providing fantastic products that encourage safer, healthier babies. I'm sure you're all familiar with their Sleep Sacks, which are a lifesaver for parents of newborns, myself inculded! HALO has a rock-solid reputation and superior products that make moms and babies alike happier, and help to offer peace of mind to the home. HALO's new line of infant sleepwear, ComfortLuxe, is specially designed with baby's sensitive skin in mind. ComfortLuxe is a revolutionary fabric that can help alleviate the discomfort associated with common skin irritations in babies, like atopic dermatitis, a common form of eczema, as well as your typical heat rashes. How is this done? Let me explain the science behind ComfortLuxe. ComfortLuxe is a "smart fabric." It is a lightweight knit fabric that is highly breathable and allows fresh air to freely circulate. This helps keep baby's precious skin cool, dry and comfortable, regardless of the time of year. This unique fabric also wicks moisture away from the skin. What does this mean for your baby? By wicking the moisture away from your little one's skin and exchanging it for fresh air, this helps regulate your little one's body temperature. This is a key factor in preventing eczema outbreaks and other irritations. Especially for those with super-sensitive skin. Maintaining a stable body temperature can literally stop the onset of triggers like heat and perspiration in their tracks, therefore helping to eliminate the itch/scratch cycle that can make baby very uncomfortable. This fabric dries twice as fast as cotton, and has even been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association! So this unique sleep system has been tested and perfected to ensure it's the absolute best it can be for our children. With HALO ComfortLuxe, I can rest easy knowing my children will sleep in comfort and wake up happier without the "itchies". ![]() When I learned about the science of snuggle behind these revolutionary sleepwear items, I just had to try them for myself. My daughter tends to overheat at night, and she often wakes up cranky and uncomfortable. She does not have a dermatological issue like eczema, but she has broken out into rashes on occasion when she gets too warm. I was so excited when the nice folks at HALO agreed to send me a set of their ComfortLuxe sleepwear to review! I received a Two Piece Set in their Silky fabric. This set consists of a long sleeved top and a pair of matching pants. When my package arrived, I was immediately struck by the softness of this fabric. It is truly luxurious! I don't really know the right words to describe this fabric's texture. It is a very soft knit, and it is lightweight and clearly very breathable. It is fairly similar to the material found in some higher-end workout clothing that is also designed to wick moisture from the body. Of course, this is much, much softer feeling than that. Much to my delight, in addition to the snuggly-soft feel of the fabric, the pajams are absolutely adorable! Sophie's set is a medium vibrant pink with a cute Peace Sign Floral print on the shirt! I just had to break out her tie-dyed Ebber-Deeber diaper to complete the look! Okay...Maybe not...No one could actually SEE the tie-dyed diaper, but I knew it was there, and that's all that mattered! Yes, I am a cheese-ball! Sophie seems to love this sleepwear as well. Before I put it on her, I showed it to her. She reached out and felt it and rubbed it against her face, as she tends to do with soft-textured things. When I put it on her, she seemed to be quite comfortable as well. She is a very active toddler, and she ran, spun in circles, etc...These pajamas did not restrict movement at all and she was able to play happily without having to tug at her clothing. It is also very soft against her delicate skin. This is a BIG plus for me, as my little diva is quite particular about what she wears as far as feel is concerned. There are items that are adorable but she fusses about wearing because they don't feel good against her body. This was not the case with HALO ComfortLuxe. Then came the ultimate test...Overnight on a muggy evening. It was probably around 78 degrees in the room when she went to bed, even with the air conditioning running. The first night I tested this sleepwear was unseasonably warm for this time of year, and it was definitely humid. She fell asleep easily, and didn't toss and turn as much as she usually does. I don't know that this has anything to do with her comfort in the sleepwear, but it is something I noticed. When she woke up in the morning, I was thrilled to see that not only was there no dampness on her clothing whatsoever, she did not have any redness and her skin was completely dry. Success! I have washed and used these wonderful pajamas several times over the past few weeks, and each morning, my Sophie-Monster wakes up happy and dry. I would definitely recommend this sleepwear to any parent who has a child with sensitive skin. It is effective, affordable, and cute. This definitely lives up to the high standards that HALO demands of their products. When you choose HALO, you choose quality, and their ComfortLuxe sleepwear is no exception!
