![]() I am so excited to have gotten the opportunity to review envibum cloth diapers. I have seen them on several blogs, and I fell in love with their beautiful colors and designs right away. I have never seen a diaper more plush looking before, and I knew right away I wanted to try them on my babies. I contacted Rachel, the owner and genius seamstress behind envibum, and was thrilled when she agreed to send me a diaper to review, as well as offer a lucky reader a diaper during my upcoming birthday celebration! As a matter of fact, Rachel was generous enough to send me 2 diapers, since I have 2 babies in cloth, along with 2 of their soaker pads to double-up for night time use. Before I get into my review of these wonderfully plush and beautiful diapers, let me tell you a bit more about envibum. Envibum is a family owned company run by a group of WAHM's and WAHD's, as well as a group of adorable children to test their designs out on. They are dedicated to bringing environmentally friendly, high quality, premium diapers at an affordable price to cloth-diapering families worldwide. Here is a word from Rachel, founder of envibum diapers: I, Rachel, personally have been a seamstress for over 20 years sewing everything from draperies, wedding dresses, and outfitting my daughters with the cutest dresses (for as long as they let me anyway). I have been sewing cloth diapers for over 13 years. Deciding to cloth diaper was one of the best decisions I made as a mom and for my three children (with one on the way coming June 2010!). Helping parents understand just how easy, healthy, and cost efficient cloth diapering is for their baby is one of our top concerns. We will always use the highest quality fabrics, designed to bring the best performance. We know your children will surely love envibum cloth diapers just as much as ours do. How envibum came to be: I am a practical parent with a focus on natural. So I have always used cotton for my baby’s bum. Easy wash and care was and is a must for my family. Early last year I was rocking our newborn son while praying for some of our friends as the Lord lead. I felt God telling me to make and sell the diapers I had made for all my children. I said out loud, “Is that You Lord?” It was such a clear thought that I was either going crazy or I was being given a vision and an assignment. I said, “OK God lets talk about it”. So I as I sat rocking and praying I blurted out the name “envibum” and then laughed out loud at the realization that I was just given the name of our new company. I told my sister first about all that I was feeling. I knew I had to run it by her as a litmus test before telling my husband how our life was going to change forever. She was so excited and as we talked I jokingly said, “ya, our tag line should be helping families grow healthy, wealthy, and dry.” She responded with, “yes, it should be!” I sat my husband down and told him the news that God was calling us to make diapers (I laugh now at how little I knew about what God had in store for us). My husband was on board immediately and as we talked we got more and more excited! We got to work right away and everything fell into place. We have mostly grown from word of mouth. We have an awesome group of moms that have lended their babies and time for testing and perfecting. We now ship our diapers all over the world. Our focus is babies health and helping families. We love the benefits of saving the Earth but feel investing in people’s lives is where God’s heart is. We use the highest quality of fabrics and my perfectionism in sewing comes out in our quality checks all along the way. We have wonderful seamstresses who put their love into each diaper as much as their talent. We are blessed to have families cloth diaper with envibum. We are doubly blessed to be able to give to those in need at the same time! We are always prayerfully looking for new ways to give. Giving monetarily with each diaper purchased and giving a mom4mom cover to a mom and baby in need with each one purchased encourages us to get the word out about envibum. We truly are thankful for all our envibum parents and worldwide family. God bless. I am a big supporter of WAHM run businesses, and I am also drawn towards companies with a heart. Envibum is a Christian company that donates a portion of their proceeds to various charity organizations, including the Salvation Army, Food for the Hungry, Crisis Pregnancy Center, Homes of Hope, and mom4mom Ministries, and several more! They donate based on a color coded system. For example, for every RED diaper purchased, envibum donates $2.00 to the Salvation Army! Each color diaper has a designated charity. I received a purple diaper and a black and white checkered diaper. If you buy a purple diaper, you're helping a special needs organization. A black and white checkered diaper helps another mom in need. These are wonderful causes, and I am proud to have the opportunity to help spread the word about this amazing company and the premium quality diapers they offer. I was immediately intrigued by envibum's AIO diaper...It's a ONE SIZE all-in-one, which is virtually unheard of in the cloth-diapering world. I am so used to having to buy several different sizes when I purchase AIO's. With envibum, this isn't necessary, as their unique patent pending design is made to fit babies between 8-40lbs without snaps of any kind. This is due to the highly elastic waist and leg openings of these diapers. They are designed to "give" as baby grows. I also LOVE the high-quality materials used to make envibum diapers. The outer portion of the diapers are a super soft and cuddly minky, and the inner of the diaper is a 100% unbleached cotton in a waffle-weave to maximize absorbency. There is also a hidden layer of PUL within the diaper that makes them waterproof. By the way, the minky used in these diapers is ridiculously plush. My daughter actually digs these diapers out of my stash and rubs them on her face and smiles. She loves the soft feel of these, and so do I. While these can be used as-is as an AIO diaper during the day, there is also a pocket that you can add an additional soaker to make this an ideal night time diapering solution. I have never seen this particular design before, and I am impressed by the effectiveness of this system. I tested these diapers on both of my babies, a 24lb 16 month old girl and a 14lb 4 month old boy. I was surprised at how well these diapers fit BOTH babies, with no adjustment necessary. ![]() Envibum diapers are also quite absorbent. I was able to use them on my heavy-wetting daughter for 2 hours during the day without the extra soaker, and had no leaks. I did notice that due to the waffle-textured inner, poo got trapped in the crevices, but it was easily rinsed away with my diaper sprayer. I was a bit worried that they wouldn't come completely clean in the wash, but that wasn't the case at all. They came totally clean using my normal cloth-diaper washing routine. I have used and washed these several times over the past few weeks, and they still look as good as new. I also tried using my envibum diapers on my 4 month old son. Again, I experienced no leaks, and the diaper fit him, too! He weighs a whole 10lbs LESS than his older sister, and I didn't even have to fiddle with adjusting sizes. It just naturally fit both babies! How cool is that?! This makes it a fantastic grab and go diaper when we take both babies out for a daytime excursion. With my BumGenius AIO's, I always have to make sure I grab the right sizes. With envibum, this is no longer necessary, as one size truly does fit all! I should also point out that the hook and loop (velcro) used in these diapers is incredibly strong and durable as well. Not flimsy like certain other diapers I have tried in the past. ![]() Envibum AIO diapers are also a great night time diaper. When using the extra soaker insert, they are very absorbent. I used them on both babies overnight, and was pleased to find that they did not leak at all on my son. On my daughter, I could only feel the slightest hint of dampness on one occasion. I cannot say for certain that was the diaper, though, as it was a hot evening here in VA, and she got a bit sweaty in her fleece footie pajamas. All in all, I can safely say I LOVE these diapers. They are definitely neck and neck with my Ebber-Deeber diapers, and that says a lot! I adore the look and luxurious feel of these diapers, as well as the fun colors and prints available. The next one on my list to buy will be their envigreen diaper, since it, too, is wonderfully unisex. Oh! Envibum also makes adorable envileaf luvies made of leftover minky fabric that feature a hidden crinkle material inside to help stimulate baby's senses. They are too cute for words! As soon as the budget allows, I definitely plan on buying one for each baby. I know they would love snuggling up to something so soft. Sophie already tries to snuggle the diapers! I recommend these diapers to anyone who is interested in cloth-diapering. They are a fantastic diaper that are a great value for such high quality, and remember, envibum donates a proceed from every diaper sold through their giving back program. I can feel good diapering my children in these diapers, and so can you. Envibum will be a featured company in my birthday giveaway event, and one of you will be able to win one of these diapers of your own. So stay tuned! The giveaway will begin on June 1, 2011! But in the meantime, you should check them out for yourself and learn more about this little company with a great big heart. This is a product I believe in, and a company that has my utmost admiration for their kindness, generosity, and their social and environmental commitments. BUY IT: You can purchase envibum diapers on their website and at select online retailers worldwide. (Info can be found on the envibum site.) You can also connect with envibum on their Facebook page and follow them on twitter! FYI: Doing so now will make entering my giveaway event easier once it begins!
