![]() If there is one thing I hate about cloth diapering, it would have to be the initial cost involved in setting up the ultimate "stash." While it's true that cloth-diapering can and does save thousands of dollars in the lung run, it also requires a pretty hefty initial investment. I have 2 babies in cloth, and we have spent HUNDREDS of dollars on diapers, inserts, and other supplies. My very first diaper purchase was the biggest mistake ever! I saw a HUGE lot of BabyLand diapers on EBay for a ridiculously low price. Of course, not knowing any better, I purchased 20 diapers. Well, that ended up being a bad choice. The BabyLand diapers were fine when my babies were under 6 months old, but once they started getting bigger, these diapers had the worst wing-droop I have ever seen, and they even began to leak. So now I have 20+ diapers that I don't dare use on my children, all because I thought I was getting a good value. So the first lesson I learned about cloth-diapering was learned the hard way: Do your research. Read reviews. Sometimes you really DO get what you pay for, and cheaper is not necessarily better! If I had done my homework the way I do now, I would have never made that initial diaper purchase. But as a family of 5 living on one income, saving money is an absolute necessity if we want to comfortably survive. I diligently try and find the best bargains and I comparison shop extensively before I place an order. So while cloth-diapering is expensive, and some bargains are simply too good to be true, there ARE great deals to be found. There ARE economical products that really do work! You just need to know where to look for them. I recently stumbled across a great cloth-diaper retailer, Diaper Safari. First of all, they offer FREE SHIPPING. All the time. This is a fantastic deal, since often shipping costs can be rather pricey. I don't have any local cloth diaper retailers, so I am limited to online purchasing. There have been many times that I thought I had found a wonderful deal, just to find that after shipping costs, I really wasn't saving any money. With Diaper Safari, this is no longer an issue! What you see is what you pay, since there are never any crazy shipping fees to eat a hole in your budget. Diaper Safari also has a fabulous selection of only the best, most trusted brands in cloth-diapering. They carry ALL of the tried and true names, like FuzziBunz, BumGenius, Happy Heiny, GroVia, and many more! They even have a ton of must-have diapering accessories, baby gear, and a special For Moms section with great nursing accessories. Diaper Safari is truly a one stop shop for all of your fluffy needs! I received the Best Bottom Diapering System from Diaper Safari for my review. Best Bottom Diapers are an all new All In Two cloth diaper system! This system works best when the Best Bottom Shell is used as the cover that holds the sized Best Bottom Inserts (available in Stay Dry or Hemp/Organic Cotton). This system will take your baby from birth through potty training and will save you tons of money over other diapering systems. The Best Bottom Diaper has all the pros of the different diapering systems and has eliminated the cons. So Best Bottoms Diapers are very trim fitting, extremely absorbent and one of the most economical diapering systems available! The snap-in inserts eliminate the need for stuffing but still give a fast drying time. The inserts are available in 3 different sizes and several different materials, so you will be able to use the one that is just right for your baby. This makes Best Bottoms super trim! Here are some features of the Best Bottom Diaper System:
Take a look at the Best Bottom System! We chose the Orange Sherbet color, since we're die hard Chicago Bears fans! Finding the blue and orange color combo in a diaper was a nice, unexpected surprise! My babies can now show their team spirit on game day! So it's no secret that the Best Bottom Diaper System is adorable and simple to use. I love the AI2 functionality of this diaper. It makes diapering on the go super convenient. I think of this as the best of prefolds and covers meets the best of OS pocket diapers. You have the ability to customize the rise of the shell, and you have the convenience of the snap-in inserts. Once an insert is soiled, simply take it out and replace it. (Provided the shell has remained clean, of course!) This diapering system is a Daddy Favorite since there is no real guesswork involved. But do they work? I tested the Best Bottom Diaper System on BOTH babies, for day and night time use. Let's see how the diaper fared! ![]() TEST BABY #1: Sophia, 25.5lbs I used the Best Bottom Diaper System on my active toddler, Sophie, first. The first thing I noticed about the Best Bottom diaper is that it is extremely easy to use. I had Sophie in this diaper in no time flat! All I had to do was snap the insert in and then put it onto her. No fiddling with pockets or making sure inserts weren't bunched up together. Since the insert literally snaps into the shell, it remains in place and perfectly secure. This is great, since it helps keep messes in the diaper where they belong rather than all over my baby's legs and up her back...eww! During the day, the Best Bottom System was fantastic. Sophie ran, twirled, jumped, climbed and played to her little heart's content, and she never once had a leak. The diaper fit her extremely well, and I had no issues with riding up or shifting. A lot of shell-type diapers tend to bunch or fit awkwardly, but this was not the case with Best Bottom. It actually has a relatively trim fit, and appeared to be quite comfortable on Sophie. I was even able to fir her clothing over the diaper without suffering from major Fluff-Butt-Syndrome. (Where the diaper extends visibly WAY past the waist of the pants.) This diaper is ideal for day time use, especially if you're on the go. For night time use, the Best Bottom fared almost as well with Sophie. I used the Best Bottom Overnight Insert, and while the diaper did not leak, I felt that my extremely heavy wetter could have used another layer of inserts. The insert itself was very saturated, and some of the moisture made its way to the leg gusset area of the diaper. I always double her inserts at night, and I have started using a standard insert underneath the Best Bottom insert for overnight use. So while I didn't experience any outside of the diaper leaks, I did find it beneficial to double-up the diaper at night to keep the extra moisture away from my baby's thighs. Sophie is an incredibly heavy wetter, though, so this finding came as no surprise to me. For a more "normal" night time flow, I am confident that the overnight insert alone would have been more than sufficient. ![]() TEST BABY#2: Xander, 18.5lbs I also used the Best Bottom Diaper System on Xander during the day and at night. I was able to achieve the perfect fit easily on him as well, and I absolutely love the adjustable shell. Since receiving this diaper, Xander has grown a bit, and resizing has been incredibly easy due to the rise-adjusting snaps. During the day, this diaper was bullet-proof. Xander likes to roll all over the floor, scoot, and ARMY crawl. This has meant Diaper Disaster in the past. Once, he pooped while he was scooting on his back, and the poo ended up going up his back, out of his diaper, and left a very unattractive Poop'Trail on my carpet. Yuck! I won't name the guilty brand, either. But I will just say it didn't provide the best fit around his waist. With the Best Bottom Diaper System, I am able to get a snug, close fit that eliminates these leakage and creep-age problems! At night, we had total success! Xander doesn't wet quite as heavily as his big sister, so I wasn't at all concerned about doubling up on the inserts. As expected, one insert did just fine in containing Xander's overnight messes. I also noticed that even after overnight use, the Best Bottom shell did not leave any red marks on my babies' skin. This is great, especially for such a trim fitting diaper. Overall, I was quite impressed with the Best Bottom Diaper System from Diaper Safari. This unique AI2 system is convenient, easy to use, and very effective against leaks. I love that you can fully customize your inserts to find the best protection for your baby. After all, no 2 babies are alike, and not all inserts are One Size Fits All. When choosing the Best Bottom Diaper System, you truly have a system that can take you from birth all the way through potty-training. The best part? These awesome diapers can save you TONS of money due to their extreme versatility. They also take up less space and even help reduce the amount of laundry you do. What's not to love about that?
