Yay! School is now in session! Can I get a collective "Hooray" from all the parents out there?
My oldest son is in 10th grade this year. He is thrilled to have classes with a lot of his friends, and that he has teachers he actually likes. My daughter, Sophie, also began school this week. I would say she's in Kindergarten, but that would be a lie. We are homeschooling her using the K12 program, and yesterday, she had her first set of assessments with her teacher. Much to our delight, Sophie breezed through everything and is now receiving First Grade materials instead for the vast majority of her subjects. We're thrilled, since we want her to love learning and remain challenged. Anyway, even though we're homeschooling Sophie, she will have plenty of opportunity to get out and about. There are multiple field trips planned, as well as events where she will get to spend face-to-face time with her teachers and classmates. So of course, we made sure she had some great back-to-school fashions, from head to toe! Sophie, like most gals, has a major love of shoes. One of her favorite pairs came from pediped.
What makes pediped awesome? From its inception, pediped® has designed footwear to promote healthy foot development. Their mantra has always been comfort, quality and style, in that order. This is why pediped® shoes were among the first children’s footwear to be awarded the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance for promoting healthy foot development. You can rest assured that pediped® is a footwear company that cares about the health and well being of your child’s growing feet.
pediped offers three unique lines of shoes, each specifically tailored to different stages of your child's growth. Please note, these stages overlap to allow for a seamless transition between styles! Originals: Ideal for ages newborn-2 years. Grip n Go: Ideal for ages 9 months- 3 years. Flex: Ideal for ages 1 year-7 years.
We received the pediped Flex Ann in Oxblood to check out for ourselves. They arrived quickly and were very well-packaged. Once I got them out of the box, I was immediately impressed with the classic styling and high quality materials used to make these shoes.
The Ann shoe is has classic Mary Jane styling, and is made from a soft, supple, genuine leather upper. They also feature convenient Velcro closure, which makes it easy for little ones to get on and off in a snap.
These adorable shoes also offer a durable, flexible rubber sole that makes this shoe ideal for school, and even playtime. Sophie wears these all the time, and they hold up beautifully, despite the fact that she loves to climb, jump, run, and play.
Another cool feature is pediped's exclusive Flex Fit System™ insoles. These additional insoles provide a customized fit and can also extend the life of the shoe. These extra insoles can be inserted for a snug fit then removed for room as your child's foot grows. These insoles can reduce shoe size by almost half a size, extending the life of the shoe. This concept is BRILLIANT, considering how quickly little feet seem to grow!
Sophie absolutely adores her Ann shoes. They are not only absolutely gorgeous, they are incredibly comfortable, too. I love the fact that they can be dressed up by pairing them with a pretty dress, or they can be more casual with jeans and a cute top.
Overall, we are definitely very impressed with pediped's back to school offerings this year. They're well-made, trendy, and designed specifically for little feet. If you're looking for some of the best shoes on the market today, definitely check out what the folks at pediped have to offer. I think you'll be as delighted as we are!

I always started getting the kids back in their schedule for sleep a few weeks before school started so they would be well-rested.

Try to reuse everything you can from last year--rip old pages out of spiral notebooks etc.

My tip is to buy school supplies early (as soon as you know what your child will need and the supplies are out). If you wait too long the stores will be out and they don't generally restock until after school has been in session for a while.

No TV or electronics before school. When we eliminated them our mornings went so much smoother. We also use checklists to keep us on track.

Lay out outfits and shoes the night before so there is no standing around trying to figure it out in the morning. :)

Pack their lunch the night before and pick out their clothes the night before. I can't stand running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

I always had my 2 kids get their backpacks ready before bedtime so they are ready to go in the morning...no running around looking for papers etc.

Ask your kids as soon as they get home from school what they need for the next day (notes, books, reports, etc) then make sure it gets done and/or laid out

Time to wind down before bedtime is nice, with a bedtime story as well, thanks!
