With so many kids going back to school, parents are scrambling to make sure all their ducks are in a row. School supplies? Check! Clothing and shoes? Check? Emergency contact forms filled out? Check! Well, one thing parents should also consider is keeping their kids safe even if they happen to wander away from school grounds. Trust me...I have worked in the school system, and this does happen, especially among younger kids. Maybe a child sees a puppy run off into the woods and goes to catch him. Perhaps they are lured away by someone they don't know. I know. Scary scenarios, but they do happen.
Or perhaps a child has severe allergies or a medical condition that requires special attention. Sure, most homeroom teachers are well aware of these issues with a child, but what if there's a sub? What if a teacher who is unfamiliar is supervising multiple classrooms of kids on the playground? If tragedy strikes, it's a good idea to make sure your child's important info is readily available for officers and first responders.
Luckily, the folks at PicturesOnGold.com have you covered. They are offering a great product called K.ID pendants that are not only absolutely beautiful, but contain vital information about your child. You can list contact info in case a child gets lost, allergies and other medical info, or anything else that may help in an emergency situation.
About PicturesOnGold.com K.ID Pendants:
This year PicturesOnGold.com has created a new line of Back to School Jewelry - K.ID - Kids ID Jewelry. These are Initial ID Pendants for boys and girls available in dog tag, round or heart shapes as pictured below. The front of the jewelry features the child's initial, while the reverse side can include whatever contact information parents feel comfortable providing in the event of an emergency. K.ID Jewelry helps parents comfort level when their child or children go to school. In the event of sickness or injury, or any emergency the contact information is readily available to teachers, medical personnel, etc. Allergies, medications, or general medical conditions can also be included. Every Child should not go to school without a K.ID.
Our Review of the K.ID Pendant :
My Sophie is almost 4, and while she is not in a formal preschool because...well...she's kind of a super-genius, we do go on a lot of family outings in public places. (No, really. She knows her colors, numbers, ABC's, and can even read.) She is also a very active child who loves to run off and explore. Thankfully, she has not gotten out of sight yet, but who knows what the future might bring? Kids get lost, even if it's only brief, and I am not sure that my toddler would be calm enough to recite her phone number or parents' names if that should happen.
The generous folks at PicturesOnGold.com sent me one of their K.ID Pendants to check out for myself, as well as give me peace of mind. I chose the heart shaped pendant for my girly-girl, and had it customized with her first initial on the front and emergency contact info on the back.
Obviously, I will not be showing the back of the pendant. I love you all, but I don't want my personal info being "out there". I will say that our pendant arrived with lighning speed, and is absolutely gorgeous. The engraving on the front is whimsical and fun yet classy, and the silver is polished to a stunning mirror finish.
They even included an age-appropriately sized box chain that is anything but ordinary. It is very sturdy and durable and has a luminous shimmer that makes it appear very fancy and high-end. Nope, this is not your typical bargain store silver chain. My photos simply do not do it justice.
When I showed Sophie her new necklace, she was absolutely enchanted. She demanded to wear it right away, and said it's her "Lovely Princess Necklace". This is technically her first piece of "real" jewelry, and she is very proud to wear it. The only problem? Now Xander and Kyle want them, too! Of course not in heart shapes, because that's too feminine. I think I just may need to order a couple more in the Dog Tag style for my boys, too!
Overall, I am loving the K.ID Pendants from PicturesOnGold.com. These are not only a great way to make kids feel super special, they also help keep a child safe, no matter what the situation. So if you're a parent who wants to make sure their child's emergency info is always on hand, no matter what the circumstance, I would definitely recommend this product. The quality is amazing, and it just might help save a child's life!
