I love BabyKicks. First of all, they are located just across the Potomac River in beautiful Maryland. Yes, this company is based right here in the good old USA! In fact, over 90% of their products are made right there in their Maryland factory. Aside from having their headquarters just a hop, skip, and a jump away from me, they also make a phenomenal range of products specifically for cloth-diapering families, like mine! They have some great diapers to accommodate every diapering style and preference. Whether you like prefolds and covers, pocket-style diapers, or even AI2's, BabyKicks has you covered. They even has amazing package deals that can carry you all the way from birth to potty training! In fact, one of my very first cloth diaper purchases was a BabyKicks 3g Pocket Diaper that I saw on CSN Stores. I ordered a couple of them! The thing that had me at "Hello" was their use of hemp, which is incredibly absorbent while being gentle on baby's skin. I love hemp, and was thrilled to see such an affordable, trim-fitting diaper using this material. Another thing I loved from the start are the soft, plush leg gussets. Leg gussets are a must in my opinion, as they really do help keep messes in the diaper where they belong rather than running down baby's chunky little thighs. The thing I love the most about BabyKick's leg gussets is that they are very well constructed and have never left a single red mark on my babies. Naturally, when I learned that BabyKicks has made some exciting changes, I couldn't wait to try out their new products. I was already a huge fan, so I was eager to see how they had improved upon their line of cloth diapers. The awesome folks at BabyKicks sent me their Premium Pocket Diaper, their Basic Pocket Diaper, and an adorable set of Hemparoo Washies for my review. I would love to tell you about these products! The first product I'd like to tell you about is the BabyKicks Basic Pocket Diaper. The Basic Pocket Diaper is available in snap as well as hook and loop closure. This is much like the previous 3g model, but with some great changes. First of all, I love the snap-down sizing options on this trim-fitting diaper. This allows you to get a great fit from birth all the way up to about 40lbs. As you can see, I received the snap version of this diaper in a cheerful Meadow green color. The outer shell of the diaper has a waterproof layer to keep messes in. The inner of the BabyKicks Basic Pocket Diaper is a super-soft, micro-fleece that is designed to keep baby feeling dry. The Basic comes with a unique, one size insert that is made with 2 layers of fast absorbing microfiber and 2 layers of thirsty hemp terry. This is a powerhouse against leaks, and offers superior absorbency while remaining trim-fitting and comfortable for baby. You can stuff the insert into the front-opening pocket or you can opt to use this as an AI2 by simply laying the insert into the diaper. Of course you'd want the hemp side in contact with baby's skin rather than the microfiber side. Overall, I am loving the BabyKicks Basic Pocket Diaper. I get a great fit on both of my babies, and they always stay dry and leak-free. I also love that, due to the trim fit, I can actually fit my babies' pants over this diaper with no issues of peek-a-booty syndrome. This is a great diaper for day time and overnight use, and will definitely make it to the head of your stash. Oh, I should also mention that the snap version of the Basic can even double as training pants for toddlers who are potty-learning! And the hook and loop is daycare friendly, since no one will be wrestling with snaps. And for only $15.99, you won't break the bank. Check out my Xander in his BabyKicks Basic Pocket Diaper! Now the next diaper has got me really excited. The BabyKicks Premium Pocket Diaper is the Rolls Royce of their product line. This diaper is, in a word, amazing! Again, this diaper is available in both snap options as well as hook and loop. What makes the Premium so darn special? Well, everything! For one, this diaper can be snapped down for newborn use, but is also generously sized to fit chubby, older babies with ease. There is no sacrificing comfort here. I received the Premium Pocket Diaper in hook and loop closure in the vibrant Azure color. Now I have to admit, I am not generally a fan of hook and loop closures. I just feel that snaps extend the life of the diaper, overall. That being said, I was happy to welcome this diaper into my stash. The rest of the features are too darn awesome to let a little hook and loop deter me! So obvious good looks aside, and yes, looks DO matter, the best part of the Premium is what you CAN'T see at first. It's all about the inner! The BabyKicks Premium Pocket Diaper has the softest, most luxurious inner of any diaper I have ever used. It is so ridiculously velvety that I wish I had panties made of this soft bamboo velour. Yep, I said bamboo, folks! I love bamboo. Not only is it extremely absorbent, it also has natural anti-microbial properties that can help prevent dreaded diaper rashes while keeping baby's bottom cozy and dry feeling. The Premium Pocket Diaper also comes with one of BabyKicks' coveted One Size JoeyBunz inserts. This is famous for its absorbency (gotta love hemp!) and the separate stay dry liner is great for naps, nights, and babies that prefer not to feel wetness. This diaper also features the gentle leg-gussets I was bragging about earlier, making this probably the most comfortable diaper I have ever had the pleasure of trying. I have got to say, BabyKicks has outdone themselves with the Premium Pocket Diaper. It's easy to stuff, generously sized while remaining trim, and it is so luxuriously comfy. My 2 year old loves grabbing this diaper and rubbing the inner all over her face while chanting "Soft....Soft...." (While it's clean, of course!) The Premium is also virtually bullet-proof when it comes to leak protection. I have used this diaper on both babies, during the day as well as overnight, and I have not had a single leak, ever. Despite the dreaded hook and loop, I think I have a new favorite diaper! Here's Xander wearing the BabyKicks Premium Pocket Diaper while playing with his puzzles! I am also loving the Hemparoo Washies! These come in convenient packs of 10 and can be used for...well...everything! I use them to wipe down highchairs, in the bath as a washcloth, and of course, during diaper changes. The hemp is soft and absorbent, and it's also incredibly durable. I love the oval shape, too, since they are very easy to handle when changing a squirming baby.
Overall, I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with the new offerings from BabyKicks. I knew I loved this brand before, and now I love them even more. The new diaper designs are completely amazing, and sure to become fast favorites of anyone who tries them. HOW TO CONNECT: You can check out the awesomeness that is BabyKicks on their website.
