![]() I am very excited about an upcoming event I just signed up for to help celebrate a first birthday over at the Shopping for Savings family! This event is a multi-blog giveaway hop, and will feature some amazing products geared towards babies and toddlers. Luckily, I just happen to have some wonderful products to include in my prize package, which is currently valued at around $500! The first sponsor I'd like to introduce you to is one that is near and dear to my heart. As a matter of fact, I am sitting here in tears as I write this post. More about the reason why I'm crying later! First I want to focus on this company and their products. It'll get personal in a bit, I promise! Earth Mama Angel Baby is a mom-owned company that specializes in providing effective, 100% natural and organic products for pregnancy, birth, and beyond. They offer must-haves for any mama to be, like their Natural Stretch Oil to help combat those nasty stretch marks, and even recovery and postpartum products like their C-Mama Healing Salve, (Boy I sure could have used that after my 3 cesareans!) and their breastfeeding support products. They even have a ton of wonderful kits that would make a fantastic gift for any baby shower! As a matter of fact, Earth Mama Angel Babies should be in every labor bag, as they are hospital approved! Once your little bundle of joy is home and in your arms, Earth Mama Angel Baby has you covered there, too. You see, while they offer a wide variety of soothing products for Mama, they also have a great selection of products that are designed to safely and naturally soothe and pamper baby. From their Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash to their Angel Baby Oil, Bottom Balm, and Lotion, they have everything you need to care for your gift from Heaven just as nature intended, with only worry-free, plant-based ingredients. You may wonder why it's important to choose natural and organic products when there are so many "big name" brands on the shelves at any retail store you walk into? Many of these products are even labeled as being "Natural". Well, I am a huge advocate of choosing organic, and have done a ton of research on what can truly be called natural or organic. Many, many products that boast this on their labels may include SOME natural ingredients, but are not truly ALL natural. So why should this matter? They all do their jobs, right? Well, yes and no. Yes, a conventional product, such as a shampoo or body wash, will clean. However, while dirt and grime may be removed, what these products can leave behind is where the worry starts. So many products contain known carcinogens, parabens, pthalates, and other synthetic substances that have actually been linked to serious health risks with prolonged use. Pretty scary, huh? _I know I don't want my body or my families' bodies exposed to these substances, and the only true way to avoid it is by choosing products that are certified as being 100% natural or organic. Nature provides all we really need for personal care, and more and more companies are finally realizing this fact. Earth Mama Angel Baby has been "in the know" for quite some time now, and has been offering only the best, safest, and most effective products for years. All of Earth Mama Angel Baby products are cruelty free, certified vegan and kosher which means no petrochemicals, parabens, SLS, artificial preservatives, fragrances or dyes. This makes Earth Mama Angel Baby the natural choice for families, as these products are completely safe, even for the most delicate and sensitive of skin, like that on baby's precious bottom! I recently received a couple of fantastic products from their Angel Baby line to review on my little angels. I chose the Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash and the Angel Baby Bottom Balm. When these products arrived at my doorstep, I was delighted to put them to the test. I have heard wonderful things about these products, the Bottom Balm in particular, and I couldn't wait to get started! Here are my results: ![]() I was very excited to try the Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash. You may recall a recent scare involving a big brand baby shampoo and known carcinogens being knowingly used as an ingredient. This has made me even more vigilant about only using natural products on my babies, and I have been trying to find the best ones. Earth Mama Angel Baby has such a great reputation, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed! The first thing I noticed about the Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash, other than the adorable packaging, was the convenient pump-style applicator. This makes it super-easy to get just enough product to wash baby without having to worry about spillage, leaks, or tub water entering the bottle if it's dropped. (Or pulled in by curious little hands!) The next thing I noticed was the fact that it comes out in a foam rather than a gel. This foam actually lathers beautifully, and a little goes a long way. Since one 5.3oz bottle produces over 300 pumps, that's a lot of bathtime fun! I also love the scent of this product. It has a sweet, citrusy, almost herbal scent to it, and it makes my babies' hair and bodies soft and wonderful smelling. It almost smells like the orange creamsicles I used to love as a kid. This sweet aroma comes from the formulation used in this all natural product. Earth Mama Angel Baby utilizes essential oils like coconut and olive oils, and throws in other natural goodies like vanilla, orange, and even aloe! This shampoo and body wash cleans effectively and is gentle enough for baby's skin and hair. It's not drying, and since there are no irritants, even those with sensitive skin can enjoy this product. I will note, however, this is not a tear-free formula, so take care when using it near baby's eyes. This is on the label, but my kids didn't seem to have any sort of reaction to it and didn't tear up when a small amount did in fact make it to their eye areas. Overall, I am very impressed by the Angel Baby Shampoo & Body Wash, and will continue to use this product! ![]() As much as I adore the shampoo & body wash, I have to say, the real star of the show was the Angel Baby Bottom Balm. You see, we are a cloth diapering family and most diaper creams or ointments do not mix well with cloth diapers. In fact, they can actually ruin the diapers by causing a nasty build-up which makes them repel rather than absorb moisture. And trying to scrub diaper creams off of a diaper? I would have better luck scrubbing toilets with my tongue. Yes, that sounds a bit extreme, but it's the truth! There are several "cloth-friendly" ointments available on the market, but not all of them are effective when it comes to clearing up rashes. I got to put Angel Baby Bottom Balm to the ultimate test recently when my well-intentioned husband washed our diapers with WAY too much detergent, which led to some pretty bad rashes in the babies. (FYI: Too much detergent on cloth can cause a diaper to not rinse clean, which can cause odors, rashes, and other general funk issues.) So my poor little babies both had gross, blistering rashes on their bottoms because Daddy went overboard with the detergent. In these cases, I either switch to sposies and use regular diaper cream while I strip the affected diapers, or I use a liner and pray that my diaper cream doesn't make its way onto the diaper. This time, I used diapers I know I washed, and I broke out my Angel Baby Bottom Balm. The first thing I noticed about the Bottom Balm was the herbal scent. I happen to love the smell of this, as it reminds me of a fresh herb garden! Included in the list of organic ingredients are olive oil, shea, jojoba, tea tree oil, and even lavender! This balm is also not thick and pasty as many diaper ointments are. It's more of an oil, and a little bit goes a very long way. Here's a photo of what it looks like: So it looks good and it smells amazing, but does it work? YES! I was actually shocked at how well the Angel Baby Bottom Balm worked in combating my babies' stubborn rashes. I noticed great improvement after one application alone, and in about 24 hours, their rashes were completely gone. I also noticed that this ointment did not hurt my cloth diapers at all! There was no persistent residue that hung around, and my diapers did not lose any absorbency while using this product, even without using liners!
But the really cool thing about Angel Baby Bottom Balm is the fact that it can be used for so much more than diapering! This little tub of miracle cream can be used on burns, minor injuries and cuts, and even on bug bites. It can even help clear up thrush on breastfeeding mamas' nipples! I have used this on a minor burn I received while pulling hot stoneware out of the oven, and it definitely did help soothe my skin. Overall, this product rocks, and will now be my go-to ointment for all of our skin-soothing needs! Now we get personal.... Okay....I promised I would get personal. Another reason I love Earth Mama Angel Baby is because they also offer products, gifts, and support for those who have suffered the loss of a baby.(Okay, the tears are back now!) The folks at Earth Mama Angel Baby are truly a team of beautiful and compassionate people who understand that a woman who has had to deal with the complete and utter devastation of losing a baby are still mothers, whose bodies and spirits need healing. They have a ton of wonderful resources for mamas with angel babies at their Healing Hearts Baby Loss Comfort Site, such as grief support, suggestions for the family and friends of bereaved families, and even a beautiful Remembering Baby memorial wall where parents can leave a tribute to their baby who has earned their angel wings far too soon. This is very personal for me, since my husband and I have suffered 3 early miscarriages while trying to conceive our daughter. We suffered from secondary infertility due to the fact that I was diagnosed with PCOS, and each loss was a blow to my soul. Then after a ton of tears, supplements, lifestyle changes, and prayer, we finally had a viable pregnancy. After getting our second early ultrasound, we learned that Sophie was a twin. Unfortunately, we had our daughter, but we also gained yet another angel baby. At about 12 weeks, we found out that the twin had not been strong enough and was absorbed by my body. While we were thrilled to have our daughter, it was still bittersweet knowing that we had lost another child. There are many who argue that an "embryo" isn't really a baby. I disagree completely. As soon as a woman is aware that there is life growing inside of her, that is HER child. A very REAL baby that becomes a part of her heart and soul forever. And when that baby is lost, no matter how early on in a pregnancy, it is incredibly painful. Women suffering from baby loss know a pain that many will never understand, and need all the love and comfort they can get. I appreciate the fact that the folks at Earth Mama Angel Baby recognize that these angel babies and their mamas deserve love and recognition, too. I would definitely recommend Earth Mama Angel Baby to any Mama out there who is expecting, has a baby, or has lost a baby. Not only are their products phenomenal and all natural and organic, this company is one that truly cares about their customers.
