![]() Now that spring is here and summer is right around the corner, I am looking forward to spending a lot more time outdoors with my family. After a mild but wet winter being cooped up inside, I can't wait to take trips to the zoo, the park, and maybe even an amusement park or two! Something I am not looking forward to? Chafing due to heat, moisture, and friction. You know what I mean. It's painful, annoying, and no fun at all, and it tends to crop up when you're supposed to be having fun. With 2 active toddlers, skin irritation happens, especially when the weather warms up. I mean diaper rash, which most babies deal with at some point or another, as well as environmental skin issues from heat, humidity, and excess sweat and moisture. I know my kids tend to get heat rashes around the thighs, waists, diaper area, and even in the armpits after a playful afternoon at the park. This is uncomfortable for little ones, and can be stressful for parents, too. No one likes seeing their child with an "owwie". These issues can crop up quickly and with very little warning. Small children tend to have really sensitive skin, so the best way to prevent redness, rawness, and skin irritation if to take preventative measures to protect against these problems before they strike. Recently, I was introduced by a pair of products specifically formulated for babies from the Anti Monkey Butt family. Baby Anti Monkey Butt Diaper Rash Powder and Diaper Rash Cream are gentle enough to use on baby's delicate skin, but pack a powerful punch to combat rashes and keep baby dry. While these products are great with treating and preventing typical diaper rashes, they're also great for preventing painful chafing that can occur in warmer weather, too! ![]() What makes Baby Anti Monkey Butt products so special? It’s the calamine! The diaper rash cream’s unique formula boasts the power of calamine and zinc oxide to help prevent and heal delicate skin that’s irritated. It’s baby monkey butt’s worst enemy; sealing out wetness, while preventing the soreness, itchiness and redness that commonly causes discomfort and irritation in diaper wearers. My son Xander has very sensitive skin and is prone to rashes more than his big sister. I had the opportunity to put this cream to the test, and I was very impressed with how quickly the Baby Anti Monkey Butt Diaper Rash Cream helped clear it up. It seemed to soothe his angry-looking bottom and within 24 hours, the rash had disappeared. I have to point out, since this product contains zinc oxide, it is NOT cloth-diaper friendly when using traditional pocket diapers or AIO's containing microfiber. When I use these types of diapers, and I use this cream in conjunction with a liner to prevent build-up and repelling issues associated with pockets and AIO's. So while this cream is amazing for clearing up rashes, I would definitely use a flannel or disposable liner when applying to a baby in these types of cloth diapers. Or better yet, try Baby Anti Monkey Butt Diaper Rash Cream with cotton prefolds and covers! Cotton prefolds are much more forgiving, and I have heard from other moms that diaper creams don't cause the same reactions with them. This is a method I am eager to try, and I will let you know soon how it worked for me! Since I do use cloth, I don't usually apply powder to the babies' behinds. Nonetheless, I found a great, alternate use for the Baby Anti Monkey Butt Diaper Rash Powder. We recently had a stint of unseasonably warm weather, and I applied this powder to the babies' thighs and armpit areas before we went out to play in the 80 degree weather. Normally, running around in hot, humid weather causes my kids to get uncomfortable chafing and heat rashes. Using this powder definitely protected their skin and kept them dry. This will definitely come in very handy this spring and summer while we're out and about! Overall, I am definitely loving Baby Anti Monkey Butt products. I even used some of the cream on my own skin that got slightly sun-burned. It was gentle, soothing, and definitely helped calm the irritation in no time flat. I would absolutely recommend this product line. In addition to their Baby line, Anti Monkey Butt also offers products for the rest of the family, too! Think your little monkey has cuteness cornered? I tried the powder on my 3 month old. it might just be a coincidence, but she developed rashes (boils/pimple types) in just 3 days of applying it. I use pampers-sensitve diapers. I'm afraid to use the powder on her again.
