***Disclosure: All information and product has been supplied by Sanus. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** When you have children, safety is key. For curious little people, the world has many dangers, even in their own homes. Not a day goes by that I don't hear at least one tragic story about a child who has been injured or killed by something that is seemingly harmless. For this very reason, we baby and child-proof everything in our home. I have cabinet locks, door knob and outlet covers, wire coverings, baby gates, and even protection for sharp corners on furniture. We also have our furniture anchored to the walls to avoid tipping. Another thing we do to protect our kids is secure our television sets. Now this might seem strange to some people, but TV's are a huge risk, and can cause severe injury or death in children. And all it takes is a few seconds. That's right...Many times, parents never see it coming. This, thankfully, is something that is easily preventable. How to Keep Your Kids Safe Around TV's : Bringing this risk to the forefront, SANUS, the leading designer and manufacturer of flat panel TV wall mounts, has partnered with Safe Kids Worldwide. By educating consumers on the risk of unsecured flat panel TV’s, SANUS and Safe Kids Worldwide offer safe solutions for families across the nation by reducing TV tip-over related injuries and fatalities. A 2011 US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) report on flat panel TV safety revealed: · A child is killed every three weeks from an unsecured TV · Every 45 minutes a child visits an emergency room due to a TV tip-over related injury · Between 2000 and 2011, 215 fatalities have resulted from TV tip-over · An estimated 17,000 people each year, the majority of which are children, are treated for injuries from TV tip-overs · Reported cases have increased almost 25% from 2006 to 2010, and over the last 10 years, injuries have increased by 31% SANUS TV Mounting Tips: · Easy 1, 2, 3 installation with a wall template to ensure even placement
So while this is a very frightening thing to think about, accidents can and do happen every day. If you have children, please take the time to secure your television sets to ensure their safety. Flat panel TV sets can be wall-mounted, and for those with older, tube style TV sets, you can easily anchor them down as well. It's relatively inexpensive to do, and just may save a life! Connect With SANUS : You can check out the awesomeness that is SANUS on their website. You can also follow them on Facebook and on twitter to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! Enter to WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will be receiving a flat panel SANUS TV Vuepoint Mount F180 to try for themselves! Winner can choose the appropriate size for their TV. Please note, this does NOT include installation. (No worries, though! It's easy to DIY!) How cool is that?!

We had to get rid of our glass table because we didn't know if it was tempered. Good thing because my crazy son has tried to climb on the table many times (it's now a wood table).
