That's almost like asking if grass is green for the majority of you, right? Well, I have to admit: I am not a huge fan of chocolate or candy in general. Most of them are so full of nasty chemicals and preservatives, and are just not good for you at all.
When I do enjoy chocolate, I typically choose organic chocolates. This way, I know I am getting the best that nature has to offer and leaving pesticides and nutritionally devoid junk behind. After all, Cacao has many benefits, where the stuff that most brands add to it just don't. So when I discovered the organic chocolate treats at sweetriot, I was pretty excited. My husband was more excited, since he is a chocoholic. At sweetriot, they offer plenty of organic dark chocolate treats that are actually good for you! text-UR Foam:

For the past several months I have been keeping a really juicy secret from you all. I'm sorry. I HAD to...You see, I kinda signed a contract so I won't be able to give all the fab details until early 2014! But I just received word from my awesome Disney/Marvel guy that I am allowed to tell you this much: MY HEAD WAS IN CHRIS EVANS' ARMPIT!!!! No really, it was. For about 2 minutes. I know a lot of my friends are now totally jealous, since Mr. Evans is one nice looking man. And tall...very, very tall.
Anyway, while I was in Los Angeles for the Iron Man 3 premiere, I also got to visit the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier! Yes, really!! I got to actually witness filming! I am not allowed to say what I saw or any other of the really cool things I experienced on set until early 2014. But I can tell you that I met Chris Evans, that he gave me a hug, and that my head was in his armpit. (And no, he didn't reek!) I also got pics taken with him! I don't even have them yet, so I have to wait till 2014 to see them, too! Want to hear more? Check back after the Holidays! ***Disclosure: As a US Family Guide Blogger, I received complimentary tickets to this event. Sadly, since they're only 2 and 3 and have absolutely no concept of time, they asked EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. is today was the day....So today, when asked if Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Built to Amaze was here yet, imagine their delight when I could finally say "YES!"
As we all know, preschoolers are not always the most patient of creatures. They got their coats and shoes on and literally stared me down, giving the evil eye, until it was finally time to go. ***Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Stride Rite. I received products to facilitate my review and thank me for my participation.*** Halloween is only a few short days away! Are you excited? I know we are! This year, we have themed costumes. Dan and Kyle are being wizards, Sophie, our dog Snickers, and I are going as witches, and poor little Xander has been a naughty boy, because he's going to be a frog.
One thing I am always mindful of on Halloween is safety. We always check each and every piece of candy once we get home. If something is partially unwrapped, not wrapped at all, or just looks suspicious, into the trash it goes! My oldest son no longer goes trick-or-treating with us. He is in 8th grade, and goes out with his friends in the neighborhood. There are rules, though. He must have a flashlight, and he must be in a group of 4 or more. Also, it's highly preferred that someone in the group has a cell phone in case of an emergency. It's also important to stay safe while trick-or-treating. After all, there are lots of dangers when venturing out in the dark. We always use glow-sticks or reflective tape to make sure we're visible to motorists. One way we're upping our Halloween safety this year is by choosing light-up shoes from the Stride Rite Halloween Page. Welcome To The Choose Your Gadget GiveawayOrganized by: Mom Powered Media. Some analysts suggest that insurance such as for your smartphone is expensive and unnecessary. While consumer research strongly indicates that the popularity of such phones, and the ease of breaking them, makes insurance on the devices extremely important to consumers. In fact it indicates that 80 million cell phones of all varieties will be lost, stolen or damaged this year. Now that is a lot of money lost on your favorite electronic device. All opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way. This is a sponsored post via Walt Disney Records and One2One Network.*** When I think of Disney, I can't help but smile. There are so many amazing moments in my life that Disney, or Disney music, played a huge part of. The first time I saw Beauty and the Beast and didn't feel so self-conscious about being the "smart girl" or "bookworm". Or Mrs. West....Gosh, it's hard to think about this beautiful woman, as she passed away in August and it's still painful....Mrs West was my choir director for a few years, and she was my good friend and psuedo-mother. Heaven truly did gain an angel when they welcomed Mrs. Debby West home. Anyway, before I get all misty, I should get to the story. One year in choir, we put on a huge musical theater production that revolved around nothing but Disney music, past and present. I remember I had quite a few solo parts, including a duet of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" with my dear friend and Grammy Award Winner, Dustin Faltz. Oh, the memories! So I can pretty much safely assume I know all of the words to 98% of all Disney movie soundtracks from the 1930's to today. Naturally, I was absolutely stoked when I learned about the brand new Disney Classics CD Box Set. This is THE must have collection for any Disney super-fan out there. |
