You all know that I LOVE MommyBearMedia. With three kids to think about, I am always very careful about the television shows and movies I allow in my home. It seems that in today's society, more and more entertainment is racy, violent, or really not appropriate for kids. For a long time, the movie rating system worked fine. Now...not so much. There are PG-13 movies that have surprisingly adult content and themes, so I can't just assume they're safe for my kids to watch. Even the TV shows geared towards tweens and teens often contain strong innuendo or values I do not wish to pass along to my children. This is why I adore MommyBearMedia! All of the DVDs they offer are carefully pre-screened by their staff and guaranteed to be family-friendly. Here you won't find anything with sex, drugs, excessive violence, or tons of foul language. That's right! They only carry good clean movies. I have been building up my collection of The Cosby Show. Recently, I received The Cosby Show Season 2 for review. I absolutely love the energy the Huxtable family has! There are always laughs, fun, and a strong positive message for families. I have watched this season in its entirety, and I can't wait to see what Season 3 brings! If you'd like to check out all of the other amazing titles at MommyBearMedia, please head to their website.

My soon to be 13 year old has a bad case of the "gimmes". You see, he seems to want everything under the sun, and expects that these things will just be handed to him. He wants an iPad, an iPhone, a laptop, and a golf cart. (Why he wants a golf cart, I will never really understand since we don't golf and live nowhere near a golf course.) But the thing he wants above all else? A swimming pool. Not just an above ground pool...He wants a huge, Olympic sized inground pool. We just bought a home in August, and while we have a decent sized backyard, a pool is an undertaking we're not quite ready to tackle. We have plenty to keep us busy inside the house before we worry about the cost of installing and maintaining a swimming pool. Plus, we have 2 toddlers, so a pool is a liability I am not ready to take on just yet. We have the "Pool Discussion" at least once a week. So rather than just tell him "No" like a broken record, I decided to sit my son down and have an adult conversation with him about the value of money and how much things cost. I asked him to name all of the things he really wants and to let me know what he thinks they cost. His answers were surprising, and opened my eyes to the fact that my son needs some financial guidance and tips on money management. Hope everyone is having an awesome week! I am still settling back in after my exciting trip to Pasadena for the Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta! Blogger Event! It was so much fun spending time with Papi and Chloe and getting to meet all of the amazing bloggers that attended. The folks from Disney and the Langham Huntington Pasadena were pretty awesome, too!
Anyway, I have a few winners to announce! Winners have been contacted via e-mail and have 48 hours to claim their prizes. Thanks so much to everyone who entered, and be sure to check back often for more great giveaways! And here are my lucky winners! Country Bob's: Paul T. KJ Skib Milk Unleashed: Lisa Better Late Than Never: Jen Too Cool For School: Allison There are two things my daughter absolutely loves above all else: Dolls and animals. She has about a zillion dolls of varying sizes, and she likes playing "Mommy" to them. She also adores our three crazy dogs, Chloe, Trouble, and Bear. Sophie has even gone as far as to try and dress our smallest dog, Bear, up in her doll's clothing. Thankfully, this little Shih-Tzu is very laid back and didn't really protest. So naturally, when I got the opportunity to review the Polly Pocket Pet Shop, I was beyond thrilled. Sophie absolutely adores Polly Pocket, and the addition of adorable animal pals was sure to delight her. When our pet shop arrived, I couldn't get over how stinking cute it was! Included are Polly, a wide variety of cuddly pets, and loads of accessories like leashes, a slide, an elevator, and even a special container that dispenses doggy treats! (Yes, the treats are also included!) There's also a grooming station complete with a towel to dry off those cute little pets. There's also a cash register to make those sales! However, I doubt Sophie would want to part with any of the pets for long! My 12 year old son, Kyle, is in 7th grade this year. It's so hard to believe since it seems like only yesterday he nervously began his first day of Kindergarten! It's enough to make this mama feel old! My son, like many kids across the country, brings his lunch from home each day. For one, it's much more economical to pack lunches. Also, I have worked in the public school system before, so I am well aware of the often flavorless slop they try and pass as a sensible lunch. I know it's so easy to just grab a Lunchables for the kids, but I cannot bring myself to do it. I don't feel they offer the nutrition growing kids need, and they come in such miniscule portions. They certainly wouldn't whet my 12 year old's massive appetite! So when I pack my son's lunch, I try and steer clear of packaged and overly processed foods. I buy high quality meats and cheeses, and I always make sure to have organic fruits and veggies on hand. I make him a generously sized sandwich, loaded with fresh deli meats and cheese, as well as veggies. I also offer snacks like fresh fruit or some organic granola. Here in Ohio, the air is already starting to get a chill at night. I am definitely not used to it, and mu husband laughs at me for going outside wearing thick socks, pants, and a hoodie. I suppose my body is still used to Virginia climates. As the weather cools down, I am reminded that the Holiday season is right around the corner. I have 2 toddlers and a preteen to shop for, so I definitely have my work cut out for me. I would have to say my preteen is the hardest to shop for. He is into some of the oddest things, and these change daily, it seems. He also claims to be too old for toys. My toddlers on the other hand are pretty easy to shop for. They love things that have interactive features and they love electronics. Both Sophie and Xander always try to play with my iPhone, laptop, and even our remote controls! If it has buttons, makes sounds, and looks fancy, they're all about it. That's why I immediately thought of the new Innotab 2 from VTech. This is a multi-function "tablet" for the younger generation! It features a large 5" touch screen and keeps kids entertained and engaged while they learn. InnoTab 2 features a NEW rotatable digital camera and video recorder that allows kids to capture memories of themselves or their friends. They can then edit their photos with cool effects! How awesome is that?! It also enables kids (up to four users) to personalize their InnoTab 2 by creating their own user name and avatar, a voice greeting, typed greeting and photo wallpaper. This is one sophisticated toy that will make any child's eyes light up and provide hours of educational fun. With 2GB onboard memory and expandable SD card slot available to accommodate SD cards up to 32GB, the InnoTab 2 will keep your child endlessly engaged. More than 200 additional apps, including games, e-books and much more that teach kids reading, logic and creativity are available for download at the VTech Learning Lodge Navigator™ at www.VTechKids.com/Download This sleek and durable toy comes equipped with tilt sensor, photo viewer, video player, MP3 music player, e-reader, art studio, microphone and more all for the same price of $79.99. You also receive built-in value with your InnoTab 2 purchase including one tilt sensor game, one augmented reality game, one e-book, art studio app, notes app, friends list, calendar and calculator to get started. That's right! The InnoTab 2 comes with everything you need to get started. No need to rush to the store right away for cartridges! I'm not going to lie....Organization has never been my strongest skill. I have an imaginary "system" that I follow, which no one seems to understand but me. I rarely make lists, and I keep things organized in my head. I have the memory of an elephant, so this works pretty well for me most of the time. However, now that we've moved into our new home, I have to come up with a whole new system. After all, it's a different house with different storage options, so I am not necessarily going to remember that all of the light bulbs are in the kitchen, in the 3rd drawer on the far left hand side. It's going to take some time to adapt my train of thought to a whole new living environment. This has been especially challenging when finding somewhere to store all of the products I receive for review here on Newly Crunchy Mama Of 3. In our old home, the blog literally took over the dining room. This wasn't a big deal since our dining room was tucked away towards the back of the house and never really saw much use. Here in our new home, this isn't a feasable option. You see, our dining room is now a high traffic area, and I don't want it to appear cluttered with all of my blog review items. That's why I was so happy when I learned about Packaways. Packaways is a brand new Storage Box that ships and stores in the flat position. When needed, simply press on opposing corners and the bottom "Automatically" folds into place and locks. When not in use, simply press on the bottom and the box folds back down flat for easy, out of the way storage. Packaways are ideal for homes, apartments or living quarters where space is tight. Some ideas for use include: Moving; Back To School; Organizing The Kids' Rooms; Basement or Garage; Seasonal Items, etc. You can color code your things or have the colors match your decor. Proudly made in the U.S.A. from durable corrugated plastic. Great for harsh storage conditions or long-term storage since moisture and humidity won't effect the integrety of the boxes. These will last for hundreds of cycles under normal circumstances. They have many, many useful applications. Packaways come with 2 Wipe Away Panels that allow you to conveniently identify the contents of the box. If you use China Dry Erase Markers, you can simply Wipe Away the previous contents and remark the box. How easy is that?! This is great for me since I can label the boxes according to product type, by event, or even by deadlines! I am very happy with my Packaways. I have been using them to store all my blogging products, and they are all neatly stowed out of the way, and are not taking over my entire dining room. I love the fact that they're so sturdy and durable, and that the bright colors look attractive, unlike cardboard boxes. Why didn't someone think of this before? I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
My husband works in the automotive field. He's a Service Manager at a very busy shop. While he may not be the one turning wrenches and making repairs, he still has to run around the shop all day and spends a lot of time on his feet. For any of you who are familiar with auto shops, you know that the floor is concrete and very hard on the feet when standing for long periods. My poor hubby comes home and has to rub his feet for about 15 minutes just to massage the pain away. That's why when I received the opportunity to review the Orthotic inserts from Footminders, I jumped at the chance. Based on years of biomechanical research, Footminders orthotics were developed by podiatrists to provide longitudinal and metatarsal support and to correct posture and body biomechanics. Footminders orthotic insoles greatly reduce over-pronation, preventing foot strain and injury and providing excellent walking comfort, preventing heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis. . There are 3 models to choose from, based on the types of shoes to be worn with them:
They arrived quickly and nestled into Dan's boots perfectly. He has been wearing them daily for over a week now, and has had wonderful things to say about them! His feet hurt less, and his knees and back have even been less sore. He did point out that for the first day or so, they felt a bit odd in his boots. This feeling quickly went away as he got used to the feel of the inserts in his boots. Overall, we're very pleased with our inserts from Footminders Orthotics. These are a wonderful solution for those dealing with foot pain and discomfort. My husband is happier, and I am happier, too. After all, if his feet are no longer sore all the time, he will have a lot more time and energy to get things done around the house! It's a win-win situation! I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. As you all know, I love my puppies. My fur-babies include Trouble, a mischievous Yorkie (seen at left) and Bear, my fluff-ball Shih-Tzu who looks just like a teddy bear. We also have Chloe, a Jack-A-Bee, but she's technically my 12 year old's dog and she stays by his side 24/7. I absolutely adore my little dogs. I prefer them to bigger dogs for a few reasons. For one, I have horrible pet allergies and require a more hypo-allergenic pet. Also, small dogs are absolutely precious. They're so stinking cute, and I love the fact that I can carry them around with me. Trouble certainly lives up to her name. She's only 8 months old, and she's strong-willed and stubborn. She also gets very, very excited and assaults guests with kisses. But, at the same time, she's so loving and playful. And she is absolutely amazing with my toddlers. Now if only housebreaking were an easy task....Yorkies are notoriously difficult in this area. I guess all good things come to those who wait and she'll give in eventually. In the meantime, thank God for Puppy Pads! Welcome to the Sactionals Sectional Furniture Giveaway!Sponsored by LoveSac.com
