So much, in fact, that he sings the theme song while he does his chores. Sure, that can be a bit on the annoying side, but it's also pretty cute. Not that I will ever tell him that, of course. The last thing a 15 year old boy wants is his Mom telling him how cute he is. That would just be SO lame of me, don't you agree? (Insert best teenage eye-roll here.)
So naturally, Kyle was SUPER excited when a brand new Adventure Time DVD showed up at our house. Adventure Time: Fire & Frost follows Finn the last human, and Jake, his shape-shifting, super-flexible canine pal on some great adventures. This hit series is aired on Cartoon Network, but Kyle really loves having the series on DVD so he can watch the episodes at his leisure. Usually, over and over again.

You wouldn't know it if you looked out my window here in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs. We're actually under a Winter Storm Advisory right now. This isn't supposed to happen in March....I guess Elsa is angry, and has decided to unleash her icy powers just a wee bit longer than usual!
Anyway, whether or not the weather is showing it, spring will come, eventually. That means it's time to order new spring clothing and footwear for the kiddos. I love shopping for my little ones, especially for the warmer months. There are so many fun and colorful styles to choose from! This season, I wanted to get Sophie and Xander some shoes that are not only adorable, but can also withstand the use and abuse of very active little children. My kids are monkeys that love to climb, run, jump, and play. I have to be honest, I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with them, especially if I haven't had my coffee. Their new shoes from Umi Children's Shoes will definitely be able to endure, without coffee, too! Because...well...shoes, unlike exhausted mothers, don't need coffee to function! ***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. But, if you live in NE Ohio like I do, you're getting dumped on by MORE SNOW. Whoever made Elsa mad should go apologize immediately!
Massive amounts of snow and bitter temperatures have kept us indoors more often than not this winter. We're all getting a case of cabin fever, and longing for warmer weather so we can head to the riverfront a couple of blocks away. There is a wonderful fountain the kids like to splash around in, and they have been begging me to take them there. Yeah, I guess they don't understand that the fountain is closed for business come wintertime! We do have an amazing outdoor ice rink at the riverfront, but the littles don't know how to skate and are afraid to go and learn. That's a different post, entirely, though. |
