Okay, so how many speed-freaks do I have out here? Who loves fast cars and adventure? My husband has a definite case of lead-foot-itis, and loves to race. One day I would love to get him one of those experience gifts that allows him to drive a race car on a track. Hopefully that will help him get his need for speed under control. Speaking of speed, did you know that DreamWorks Pictures will be releasing "NEED FOR SPEED" on March 14, 2014? This movie is sure to be a blockbuster hit, and will definitely be a must-see for all gear-heads and race fans alike! There is a brand new clip available, and it's called "Driving School...Again. This clip features the amazing Dominic Cooper (“Captain America,” “Mamma Mia!”) who plays the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster in the film.

So who was watching the Grammys the other night? I fully admit, I watched the show mainly because I am more than a little obsessed with Bruno Mars. No, really...I probably need a 12 step program! And while he didn't perform, I swooned when he accepted his award and felt a little twinge of jealousy when he said "I love you, Jessica" to his oh-so-pretty girlfriend. Sigh.
Anyway, Bruno wasn't the only highlight of the show. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Queen Latifah, Madonna, and Mary Lambert brought me to tears with their beautiful performance of "Same Love". I was so moved by this song, and loved seeing all the happy couples celebrating their love live on TV. Also, I have to admit, the commercials were really amazing, too. My favorite? The sneak peek of Disney's "MALEFICENT", of course! A never-before-heard Lana Del Rey rendition of “Once Upon a Dream” was unveiled as part of a 90-second sneak peek of Disney’s “Maleficent” during the 56th Annual Grammy Awards® on Sunday, January 26. “Maleficent” releases in U.S. theaters on May 30, 2014. Award-winning, American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has recorded a unique reimagining of the renowned fairy-tale tune from Disney’s classic animated film “Sleeping Beauty,” which will feature in the end credits of the upcoming Disney film. Lana Del Rey’s “Once Upon a Dream” is free for a limited time, only on Google Play, Google’s online store offering digital music, movies, books, games and more. The song was made available as a free download today and will be available exclusively on Google Play through Monday, February 3rd [http://smarturl.it/ldrgps1]. “Maleficent” explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty" and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever. ***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. I can't say I am surprised though. Digital media is so much more convenient and even more cost-effective, since you can download your favorite music by the album or even by the song! In my home, we have tons of devices that support digital downloads. I have a MacBook Pro as well as a Windows based laptop, and we also have iPods, Zunes, and a PlayMG.
So of course, we don't want to be restricted to wearing earbuds constantly when we're jamming out to some awesome tunes. This is where a wireless speaker comes in handy! Wireless speakers allow you to share the music you love with those around you at parties, during a romantic evening at home, or well, anywhere! So when I got the chance to check out the amazing DECK Wireless Speaker from SOL REPUBLIC, I was beyond excited. SOL REPUBLIC is a brand I have heard wonderful things about, since they are known for their high quality, stylish audio gear. ***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. He enjoys drinking plenty of soda, and we were spending TONS of money at the grocery store on 2Liter sodas. I'm talking up to 8 of them per trip. That's a lot of money, and a LOT of waste. He also purchases 2-3 20oz sodas when he's at work. Every single day. That's why I was so excited when I first discovered a revolutionary at-home soda maker that produces great tasting beverages and helps reduce my family's carbon footprint. Not to mention, the SodaStream is also extremely economical. The flavor refills are VERY inexpensive, and one bottle makes several liters of soda! There are TONS of different flavors to choose from... With Soda Stream, you will find all your favorite varieties, like Cola, Lemon-Lime,and Dr. Pete (tastes just like Dr. Pepper) as well as unique flavors like Black Currant Pear and Cranberry Raspberry. There are even energy drinks, lemonades, teas, and even green tea and sparkling water varieties! I happen to LOVE the sparkling waters, by the way.
I have had the pleasure of trying several varieties, and they are all refreshing and very tasty! And since these sodas are made on-demand, you will never have to worry about flat soda or an abundance of empty bottles again! Did you know that plastic bottles are a MAJOR environmental hazard? It's a known fact that the vast majority of plastic bottles are not recycled and wind up in landfills. It's a great time to not only teach kids the importance of daily brushing and flossing, but also make those appointments for cleanings and exams.
My kids absolutely HATE the dentist, so I am always looking for ways to make dental visits more fun. Whether it's singing silly songs, brushing their dollies' teeth, or reading storybooks about the dentist, we try and show our little ones that good oral health is important and nothing to be afraid of. (Which is hard, since I have a huge phobia regarding dentists! Of course I'd never admit that to the kiddos!) Starting January 21, the awesome folks at Tom's of Maine have teamed up with OHA to offer kids a way to express their creativity, learn about oral health, and even help those in need. How cool is that?! On January 21, Tom’s of Maine announced a free coloring and activity book called “Brushing Fun,” which supports Oral Health America, a national nonprofit dedicated to oral care and prevention. With each free coloring book download, Tom’s of Maine will donate 10 tubes of its Wicked Cool! natural toothpaste (up to 200,000 tubes) to children in OHA’s Smiles Across America program. Now I think that is wicked awesome, don't you agree? ***Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for STAINMASTER. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.*** Okay, if you're a pet owner, you are well aware that while fur-babies bring tons of joy and love to the home, they also bring tons of stinky, disgusting messes. We have cats and dogs, so we have a whole bevy of messes to combat. Hairballs, "cat gak", pee and poop...We deal with it all, and on a more regular basis than I'd like to admit.

Slowly, she begins putting down roots and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex (Josh Duhamel, Transformers franchise), a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and finds she must rely on the power of love. Learning her name is Beth (Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm. Special Features:

They seem to have a lot more fun when learning is incorporated with play time. My little ones are 3 and 4 years old, and we work daily on skills like reading, writing, ABC's and 123's. They're smart little cookies, and my 4 year old even knows how to read!
So when I received the MEGA BLOKS First Builders 1-2-3 Learning Train, I knew they would be absolutely thrilled! They love building with their MEGA BLOKS toys, and they also love trains. We live right near a train track, and when the train comes through town and toots its whistle, they clap and smile and think it's coming to see them! (Yes, they watch the train cartoons on TV!) |
