***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** ![]() I have to admit, I am a total water snob. I cannot force myself to drink ordinary tap water, because I am always paranoid about what nasty chemicals and deposits might be in it. Chlorine...Pesticides...Lead...Those are definitely not things I want my family to be ingesting. The problem is, I also don't like buying cases of bottled water. If you think about the sheer amount of waste that plastic bottles account for, it's enough to make anyone feel a bit guilty. Sure, we recycle, but I always worry that the little ones slipped a bottle or 5 into the trash. You may think I sound a bit too paranoid about our water. But research proves that tap water isn't always as clean as we'd like to think. Here are a few quick facts about water contamination from the folks at the EWG: Pretty alarming, isn't it? That's a lot of contamination affecting the water in the US. I definitely won't be drinking out of my backyard hose any time soon, that's for sure! With tap water being out of the question, and the fact that we try to avoid the waste associated with plastic bottles, we have done quite a bit of research about what our options for clean water are. Sure, there are those filtered pitchers, but with little kids, they're not very user-friendly. So a better option for my family is a water filtration system. I would eventually love to get a whole house system, since our 100 year old home certainly didn't come equipped with one. A whole house system is not wonderful only for drinking water, it also benefits your skin and hair, as well as the quality of your laundry. Think about it...If clothing is washed in super-clean, filtered water, it will last longer and look newer. For now, a whole house system just isn't in our budget. Luckily, Aquasana has a great and much more affordable alternative, if you're looking for pure, clean drinking water! Aquasana’s drinking water filters are NSF certified to remove over 97% of chlorine, over 99% of lead, herbicides, pesticides, cysts, asbestos, volatile organic chemicals in addition to chloramines, pharmaceuticals and over 50 additional water contaminants. While their filter technology provides maximum reduction in water contaminates, it also leaves behind the beneficial minerals found in water such as calcium, magnesium and potassium. Aquasana has several different options to choose from. I'd personally love to save up for a whole house system or one of the space-saving under the counter models. But for those who may have a tighter budget, (like me!) there is also a great counter top water filtration system. This product is SUPER easy to install, and requires no tools or drilling. The unit sits on the counter top, and the hoses connect right to the faucet. I was able to set this up myself, which is impressive considering I always save these kind of jobs for my very handy hubby. The water does taste a lot cleaner using this system. It's crisp and pure tasting, much like you'd expect from premium bottled water. It even comes out looking cleaner, without any weird little "floaty things" in it. I would definitely recommend Aquasana products to anyone looking for a simple to use, cost effective way to improve the quality of their drinking water. Aquasana also offers money saving bundles that are a great value! I have tried pitchers, bottled water, and even boiling water before using it...But for our family, Aquasana makes perfect sense. How to Connect : You can check out the awesomeness that is Aquasana on their website. You can also connect with them on Facebook and on twitter to stay on top of their latest products and promotions! Enter to WIN : Aquasana has generously offered to send one of their Countertop drinking water filters (in the color of your choice) to ONE lucky reader! Boiling your water will not remove the lead or other heavy metal nor PVC etc. dissolved in your water, only safe way is to filter your water.

Sadly it probably would taste better if the piping in my house wasn't rusting. :( So obviously I'm not turning my, or my family's, insides orange like my tubs and toilets. I've used the Brita pitcher. I don't care for the taste of our town's water.

No, I've never used a filter system. Have to buy water in a bottle due to high smell of clorine sometimes.

I've only used water pitchers but I'd love to have a system like this as I don't think our water is safe and never drink it or cook with it.

I have tried the ones that go directly on the faucet, never got a good fit it always sprayed or fell off even with different modifiers. The water is actually not bad where we live - a little on the chlorine side thought. We use water bottles and a water cooler.

We have a pitcher that filters but our tap water isn't awful. I'd rather have this system though of course!

I've tried the PUR Water pitcher, worked great but very hard to find the replacement filter at Walmart.

Yes! I have used the Britta water Pitcher and Britta Tap for the faucet to filter our water. It works well. We need a filtering system because we have heavy mineral deposits such as iron in our water.

I had a filter that I loved. It came with a wand that tested how many impurities were in the water. Zero water filter made sure there were zero impurities afterward. I thought it was pretty fun.

Our water tastes especially skunky in the spring. We have tried a PUR water filtration on our faucet, but it's falling apart, and I don't think the water still tastes very good. We need this!

We use a water filtration system that is located in a shopping plaza near our home. We don't drink our tap water here, so to have this system in our home would be awesome!
