Has anyone noticed it's getting awfully cold outside lately? At least here in Ohio it is! For me, winter time is always rough because my skin ends up becoming very dry, and I find myself applying moisturizer multiple times per day.By dinner time, I often end up feeling like my face is covered in a gross residue, and it's not at all pleasant. It's especially annoying because as we age, our skin loses moisture and elasticity naturally. So in the colder months, skin is prone to more issues. Dry, cracked, flaky skin is commonplace when it's colder, and if these issues aren't addressed, it can help contribute to signs of aging. At 31 years old, I really don't have any wrinkles yet, thank Goodness. But I know that without proper preventative steps and a good skincare regiment, they'll be showing up sooner than later. I have been obsessive about skincare for the past several years. One thing that is an absolute must in my book is sun protection. Rain or shine, hot or cold, I always use products that contain a decent level of SPF. Yes, ladies, this is crucial. The sun is not your skin's friend! Another thing that is an absolute must have is a good, anti-aging moisturizer. Sure, many people use a simple face lotion, but not all are created equal. What I love are products that contain proven anti-aging ingredients. This way, I not only keep my skin hydrated, I also help keep the development of pesky lines and wrinkles at bay. So when I was asked to review a brand new anti-aging cream, Aquallure, I jumped at the chance. This product has not officially been launched yet, so I am among the first to give it a shot! (Yep, I love my job!) Aquallure contains the following key ingredients:
According to the manufacturer, "Aquallure is a potent antioxidant rejuvenation cream which works to rehydrate skin and restore its healthy glow. Aquallure contents a powerful blend of antioxidants, moisturizers and peptides to rehydrate skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines. In clinical studies, Aquallure increased skin hydration by 440% in two days and reduced fine lines by as much as 60% in 4 weeks." Aquallure comes in a pretty little jar and contains 1oz of product. I don't know about you, but I love products that come in pretty packages. Maybe this makes me weird, but I love products that have a luxurious, high end look to them. The cream itself is very thick and rich, so a little bit goes a very long way! The 1oz jar will literally last you for several weeks or even months, depending on how much you use. I have found that a small, pea sized dab of product is enough to cover my whole face. I have been using Aquallure once a day, in the evenings, for a few weeks now. I apply a small amount to my face after using a gentle cleanser. It's so important to use anti-aging products on clean skin so they can do their jobs properly. I love how easily this product is to spread on my skin, and it absorbs rather quickly, leaving the skin smooth and supple. While I haven't noticed a huge difference in the appearance of my skin, I do notice that it feels different. My skin is very hydrated, velvety soft, and definitely not as parched as it usually is as cooler whether rolls in.Remember, I don't really have any wrinkles or age spots to speak of, so the lack of visible change was actually expected.
The only thing I am not crazy about is the smell. It's lightly floral, but in a way reminds me of the smell of a certain depilatory cream. It's not overpowering, though, so it hasn't hindered my desire to use the product. Now I should point out that I know others who love the scent, so this is just my personal opinion. While I don't care for the aroma, it certainly isn't a deal-breaker by any means. Overall, I really like Aquallure. It contains revolutionary ingredients that have been proven to combat the signs of aging, and it definitely leaves the skin very moisturized. Even if you don't have lots of problem areas due to aging, this product is definitely worth keeping on hand. Prevention is key, and by using Aquallure, I am confident that those wrinkles and lines won't make an appearance as quickly as if you didn't use it. HOW TO CONNECT : This product has not yet launched, so I don't have any purchasing info for you just yet. I will update this post with links and info as soon as the product is released! WIN IT ! I never wash my face with soap - it is too harsh. I use a gentle facial cleanser and rinse alternately with hot and cold water.
