Alight Fashion Review and Giveaway! 6/26

Break out the cute sundresses and sandals, ladies! I think it's safe to say that summer is officially here, regardless of what the calendar says. Here in Virginia, it has been HOT! I mean step outside and need a change of clothes within 10 minutes, because it is muggy and feels like the bowels of Hell kind of hot! I have literally been wearing dresses almost every single day. Now that I'm finally not pregnant anymore and have lost all the baby weight and then some, why not? Dresses are fun, flirty, and feminine, and my husband loves them on me. That's a good enough reason for me to own several and wear them regularly!

I wasn't always a dress wearing gal, though. Up until a few months after I had my 17 month old, I was a bigger girl. Not huge, but a size 14-16. I always had a very hard time finding clothing that was trendy and flattering, and honestly, I lacked the confidence to wear anything that screamed "Hello, world! Look at me!" I have always had major self-esteem issues, though. (Still do!) Anyway, when I was plus-sized or fabulously thick, whichever you prefer, I had a very hard time finding clothing that was feminine and pretty without looking matronly or frumpy. I wish I had known about Alight!

Alight is a fabulous online store that features gorgeous Plus Size clothing, ranging in sizes from 12-34. They have about a million dresses that I find absolutely drool-worthy, as well as a vast selection of tops, skirts, jeans, shorts, and even active wear! These are NOT your typical Plus-Sized garments, either. Alight carries the latest fashions and trends in flattering styles that allow you to celebrate your curves and get noticed. How CUTE are those? And there are hundreds, if not thousands, more to choose from at Alight! I seriously wish I would have known about this company a couple of years ago. If I had, I am willing to bet I could seriously boost my body-confidence wearing their beautiful clothing. I received an adorable peasant style shirt for review. I ordered their smallest size, but unfortunately, it is still way too large to look decent on me, despite the fact that I am blessed in the boobage department, even when I gathered it and pinned it in the back. This shirt is amazing though, and I am pretty bummed that it doesn't fit. This top is is very lightweight and has a breezy feel to it. It is 100% cotton and machine washable. The quality of the shirt is amazing, as it features detailed embroidery and fun, tassled ties at the keyhole neckline. I also love the color. It is a bright, almost Tiffany blue, and would look fantastic with a tan this summer! This top can be worn with shorts, capris, and would look smashing with some skinny jeans and heeled sandals. I absolutely adore this top, and am seriously contemplating taking it in so it will fit. I could give it as a gift, but it's so cute I don't want to part with it! Maybe I will add a cute belt and use it as a swimsuit cover-up!  So while I won't be modeling this top before I alter it, here are some photos on the hanger.
