***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** As a mom, I am always looking for great meal and snack options that can be served to my kids and their friends. Of course while my own children don't have any food allergies or sensitivities, some of their friends do. I am always happy to accommodate our menu to cater to these different dietary needs. After all, what kid wants to miss out on eating what everyone else is? To a child, that could feel like a punishment of sorts. It doesn't seem fair, if you ask me. So in order to make sure everyone will be happy when we have gatherings and playdates, I have a collection of cookbooks that will help me find the perfect recipe that everyone can enjoy. I don't want to leave anyone out. Recently, I got to check out a great new cookbook, 201 Gluten-Free Recipes for Kids by Carrie S. Forbes. This is a great resource for those who have celiac disease or gluten sensitivities. And the recipes are FUN, too! Here's more about the book: Every year, millions of children are diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, but the dietary changes necessary to treat them don't always come easy. 201 Gluten-Free Recipes for Kids helps you create a variety of mouthwatering meals and snacks for your child--all without the ingredient you worry most about: gluten. From breakfast staples like Oatmeal with Cinnamon Apples to tasty treats like Chocolate Coconut Brownies, this book transforms your kid's favorite foods into nutritious dishes they can eat. Best of all, your entire family will enjoy digging into these gluten-free meals with delicious recipes, like:
Complete with step-by-step instructions, cooking substitutions, and beautiful four-color photographs, 201 Gluten-Free Recipes for Kids shows you that you don't need to completely overhaul your child's diet or spend all day reading labels in order to raise a happy and gluten-free kid. We have had the pleasure of trying a few of the recipes from this book, including the chocolate chip cookies, blueberry apple muffins, and zesty Mexican pizza. Making these items was quite simple, and they taste wonderful. By making a few sneaky substitutions, we were able to enjoy the goodies we craved without sacrificing any flavor. You'd never even know that the gluten is missing! My kids and a few of their gluten-free friends were all too happy to gobble up a plate of chocolate chip cookies. None of the kids even realized that they were eating "different" cookies at all. Overall, I am definitely quite happy with 201 Gluten-Free Recipes for Kids. This collection of kid-friendly recipes is well-thought, well-written, and offers some absolutely stunning, full color photos. And the food? Well, it's pretty darn tasty, if I do say so myself! So if you or someone you love is gluten-free, definitely be sure to check out this book. You'll be happy that you did! Buy It : You can purchase 201 Gluten-Free Recipes for Kids on Amazon. It is available in both paperback and Kindle formats. Enter to WIN : I am thrilled to announce that one lucky reader will be receiving their own copy of 201 Gluten-Free Recipes for Kids.
